Also, Machynlleth, which isn't too far up the road and has some great riding! Nant is lovely, really swoopy goodness!

Nant y Arian has more of a 'wilderness' feel to it, in parts it's covering bridle ways rather than man made trails so it's quite different to other trail centres.
My****love is a more typical Welsh trail centre but the Climax trail has an amazing final decent and rumour has it that there are some 'aternative' ways down just after the wooden berm.

geetee1972: rumour has it that there are some 'aternative' ways down just after the wooden berm.

Really? Really, really? Can anyone substantiate these rumours?
I know there's a fun steep track at the end, but have been blind to anything else.

Guess I could always stop and look around next time I'm there...

Yes - I was talking to someone the other night who was taken down it and was raving about how good (and steep) it was. He said it was literally just after the wooden berm but I couldn't tell you any more than that.

It's not legit mind. Locals stuff.

Interesting - I'll take a look around.

It's amazing what you can find if you do a bit of searching; this is very well hidden in another part of the Dyfi Forest:

EDIT
Bollox! How do photos work on here then eh? I followed the distructions & everything!
Never mind - it is good, but you'll just have to live without it 🙂

Photos are easy once you know how but it's amazing how many people have problems at first.

First you need to have the picture hosted somewhere. If it's a picture you've taken then something like Flickr is the best option.

Then once the picture is loaded up (or if it's an image that already sits on another website), just right click on your mouse and select 'Copy Image Location'.

All you need to do is paste that link into the text bar that is generated when you click on the 'IMG' button on the dialogue box when you're posting to the forum.

Hope that helps for future reference.

Hmmm... No help whatsoever Gee man - (almost) exactly what I did. Copied & pasted the URL and no dice.

Any chance the size of the image is to blame?

The way I did it was to select Grab the HTML from the Share This drop down box and copy from the 2nd http to .jpg, then pasted this into the IMG dialogue box.

Hope that helps.

Coed y Brenin is just up beyond Dolgelleu - when I was in Aber there busses with bike racks on the back that went right past it.

I think a lot of people say Coed Y Brenin is a bit tame though

Leg Burner is alright really. If you've got a couple of people at a similar pace, it's an opportunity to have a bit of a gas/competition. I find it's a useful measure of my fitness at any given time.

Some of the quick boys are up there in 12 minutes now, and round the Conti in less than 1 hour 45 mins...

Seems like Flickr has some FlashPlayer viewer thingy going on that prevents you from right clicking. I clicked on 'view all sizes' and was able to get the .jpg address from right clicking.

Dont give up! Try this.

Open your flickr photostream
Select a picture so that you get a larger view of that picture
Then click on the picture again - when I do this from your Flickr account it goes into a slightly different view mode, like a slide show. In the top right corner, you should see a 'View all Sizes' option, click this.
Now the picture on screen should allow you to right click and give you a drop down menu (assuming you're using windows).
Select 'Copy Image Location'
Now go to singletrack world and in the post section, click IMG
With the cursor blinking in the pop-up window, hit ctrl-v, this is the paste keyboard shortcut.
That should then paste the picture location and allow you to post photographs.

Re: The Orange 5 - I've got a similar "experiment" going on with an 06 Enduro with CCDB & Domains. Domains limited to 160mm; are your totems reduced travel too?

I'd like to give it a bash with totems so the adjustability of the front is closer to the back (and they look ****in hardcore 🙂 ), but fear sticking longer than warranteed forks on.

If they are limited:
1 How?
2 Cost to do it?
3 Are you just braver than me?

How is easy - you send the Totem fork to TF Tuned and they then custom cut the internal damping rod to make it a 160mm fork rather than a 180mm fork.
Cost is about £120 I believe and is irreversable.
Looks like he is a brave chap as those Totems look to be 180mm, but I could be wrong.

yeh im a retard 😆 cheers rob, i'll keep trying tho, can't understand it as the tried doing what geetee just said and even found the copy location clicked it, put in the img box , all the link came up in the box, thought this is it! then when i pressed post nothing came up! what! nevermind, the orange is actually a friends bike but the totems are 180's, with the ccdb aswell make it well hardcore! 😀

Shaggy you have my sympathies - it's ****ing frustrating when you can't get it to work.
No idea what's going on for you. Are you overwriting/deleting the initial http:// that appears? If not that might be causing the problems.

£120! Good Lord.
Might just stick with what I've got as I've invested/squandered enough on it already I reckon and I'm unlikely to find a set of Totems anywhere near as low as the price I paid for the Domains.

I sold my nearly new set for £300 last month Rob. Maybe you could find a set on eBay?

TBH the Fox 36s are as good and more versatile, being consdierably lighter. I'd only recommend the conversion if you didn't already have a 160mm fork but had a set of Totems.

Already got 36 talas forks for AM types rides - got the domains for uplift days.
