I belong to a travelling circus (aka salesman) and frequently take my bike with me. I do the Whites trail about once a month.

Generally I sneak away and get to Glyncorrwg about 3-4pm. I'd like to do the Skyline trail but the signs says 4-7 hours. So err on caution and just do the old favourite.

Now if I do Whites in 2.5 hours how long would Skyline take? I just don't want to be caught on my own in the dark.

Could always just do the July trail shortcut - that gets the best descents of skyline in and misses a load of single track. Think there's still a diversion on skyline at the moment though that cuts out some of the first bits - haven't done it since it's been diverted so don't know what the effect is. Other than that it sounds like skyline may well take you a good 6 hours

I would have thought you could do it in under six hours.
Agree with Zoolander about the July shortcut though, for me that's the best version of Skyline. One small correction though, it does still include the best descents but misses out loads of fire road, and only a bit of good singletrack.

Why don't you try W2 . . much more interest and quicker too if you take a short cut. Took us 3 hours on Sunday.
