The local lbs recently closed, was only a mini halfords type but a useful source of parts etc. My neighbour used to use them but asked me to look at his town bike as it felt a bit odd. Bottom line rear axle in two parts and hub knackered despite my attempts to rebuild from spare parts tin... Oh well
Q. My chain tool says chain needs replacing, easily fits between the links. Are they under same tolerance as our mtb chains? Looks like that's going to be new wheel, chain & 7 speed cassette. eBay looks ok but anywhere good online for this?

Do the gears actually slip or cause any problems? If not then just leave it all wear together until such time as it starts to cause issues.
