What's the largest sprocket on that cassette and what's the mech? How much adjustment is left on the b-screw?

46 tooth with a long b screw.

In one gear it just slightly tings under power. Thought I'd remedy that.

By "one gear" do you mean first/lowest gear or a random "one" in the middle of the cassette?

tings? As in Uptown Top Rankin'?

It's either 3rd from the wheel or 3rd from the drop out that tings like a wonky disc.

Try one of these before you throw any more money at it

Joemmo , I did!

The bolt that comes with that is a weird size that fits absolutely nothing on the planet. So thought I'd get the proper thing.

How do I know if my mech is Shadow Plus?

That one just bolts onto the hanger and then you attach the mech to it, it doesn't replace the upper link - just in case that's what you tried

It is.
Shadow = low profile
Shadow+ = low profile with clutch

I tried it again, it wont work. Its this one
Theres a tab on the back
to engage with the mech hanger. But it gets in the way on my bike so wont bolt down. Im going to file the tab off and try again

I fitted one thus:hanger
it's running with a 11-40 but with hardly any b-screw applied so there is a lot of adjustment still available

wzzzzz - any fotos?
Tried mine again, which nw fits, sticking out the back, but very little contact between my mech hanger and this jobbie, so probabl something will get damaged.
Now my gear cable is too short to refit the mech to it.

It looks like the mech will be too far back to engage much of the chain on the cogs
zippykona- apologies for hijacking your great thread!
