As per title - I'm not sure which headset I'd need.
The forks are tapered, and the El Guapo headtube is mix taper 44/49.6.
The On One mixer headset should fit, but I'd have to buy a crown race seperately and it would end up costing around £60 fitted - surely there is a cheaper way?

Oh and is there any cheap headset that would allow me to slacken the head angle by half a degree or so?
CRC were doing Mix+Match Hope headsets for £25 per cup.
Okay - would I need a 49.6 1.5" bottom cup and a 44 1.1/8" top cup?

I was looking at the Hope headsets, I was looking at getting zs49/30 (hope ref D). I emailed on-one and got the following reply.
'The zero stack lower may cause some issues with the crown of the forks hitting the frame, you would be better with the external cup lower Hope part F S.H.I.S ec49/40'
So thats what i went for. Though with a set of 170mm Lyriks 2013 I think the clearance could be there for the zs49/30.

Where you trying to fit 1 1/8" forks
Sorry forgot to say, that was with tapered forks, however to convert the ec49/40 apparently all I need is the correct hope reducer crown race. Atleast the 1 1/2" hope race crown is split, therefore very easy to replace.

I have both crown races - the one for tapered and the one for 1 1/8th steerers. I'm assuming you only need the former.
