I have used XC4 ones for years on both MTBs. I have just received a set of MX4 ones from Merlin as I ordered the wrong ones (was wanting a spare pair) so, for general trail riding, does the MX 4 offer any advantage (if not I’ll likley return them)

Bigger platform can be better if you have softer shoes and/or trouble clipping in.

Thanks, fairly solid Spesh shoes and defrosters so no issues there. May send them back I guess..
