Toying with the idea of selling my ti456 frame, but finding it difficult to come up with a price- one sold on ebay for 620 a week ago with headset, is this a fair indication of the current value considering they're now £800 new?
How does yours compare with the one that sold? The best indication of value is what people have been prepared to pay for it before.
As a rough rule of thumb, for bike related transactions on eBay and assuming that the item is in good condition - say up to two years old - then you can expect around 60% of the new price in the auction. You should then deduct around 15% for fees.
On that basis you should net around £330 from your frame.
Some items command a definite premium because they almost never appear on eBay. Cotic Soul frames are a good example. However, I can't get my head around why anyone would pay £620 for a frame with no warranty back up when for another £180 they could have a brand new one, unless the one they bought was ostensibly brand new.
Hi Vinny I sold mine for 700 a few weeks ago but that was just before the price drop. Might be worth hanging onto until On One sell out again?
I think if I offered it up for 330 I'd be beating buyers off with a stick. 🙂
I know it might be better hanging onto it for the time being, but I quite fancy that Mojo in the classifieds if it's not been sold, and under the current one in/one out policy I'd need to sell something.
There's someone in the classifieds after a Ti456 Vinny
I normally price up my second hand stuff on a basis that if it's in good nick, and less than a couple of years old, then it's worth about 2/3rd of the brand new value.
Therefore I'd expect about £500-£550 for a Ti456. Considering the new price is currently £800.
It's difficult to say with Ti456's whether you are better off holding on to the frame in the hope that the RRP goes back up and therefore the 2nd hand price, or sell it now as if the price sticks at £800 the older it gets the less it's worth. Another factor to consider is that I'm not sure if the Ti456 had been designed to pass the new CEN testing, if it hadn't then I'm sure On-One will be changing the design therefore leaving you with an old model which will obviously lower the 2nd hand value.
I don't think you should offer it for £330 I think you would NET £330. However on reflection I think £330 Net is too pessimistic. I reckon you'd get between £480 and £520, as Jim suggests and would then need to take off between £72 and £78. That would Net you £408-£442.
at that price, just put it in your loft and forget you own it - no point giving it away
According to their website on-one only have a couple of 14" frames left at £799. I don't think you can use that as a basis for pricing a s/h frame. The new stock will be more for certain.
If its a medium then would you take £400 posted?
