My Thule G5 909 bike carrier has failed/cracked at the locking mechanism pivot!! Leaving me without a bike carrier for my week off work. Anyone had a similar experience with this carrier? Its not a cheap carrier and its only been used around 20 times in under 2 years, never abused, damaged or overloaded.
Had several Thule models fail on me, they will supply spares to fix it FoC is you drop them a mail.
I now only use one with a cable lock round the bikes as they are not safe to use on motorways without some form of backup.
Yes I use cables as well but this fail was at the locking mechanism at the tow ball, should have mention it earlier. So the whole carrier would have fallen off!! Its still under warranty (5 year) so I'm fully expecting it to be replaced. Looks like I will be going hill walking then.
