Picked up a second hand Chariot Lite (single seater), successful first outing at the weekend but a rain cover would probably be wise given the significant mud splatter.

Official Thule ones seem to be hard to get and £80+

Any alternatives?

Puddle suit and goggles might be a an option but not sure they will be tolerated at this age 🤣

Just to say the original Thule ones are excellent at their job.

During really wet or muddy weather we just used it with the cover closed when cycling to reduce spray on to the kids which limited outward visibility somewhat.

We would often choose to run with it rather than cycle as the splashback from the front running wheel was less than that from a bike's back wheel.

I also knocked up a front mudguard for the running wheel using wire coat hangers, a cut pop bottle and tape/cable ties which helped.

If you are not cycling over particularly rough ground then you might be able to fit some kind of adapted mudguard to the rear wheel of your bike to reduce the amount of spray.

I will keep my eyes open for the official one. No running attachment as it was s/h but might see what can be done with a guard on the tow bike
