Could some one explain this to me very simply please..?
I have a "standard" Hope Pro 2 Evo rear hub, but have just bought a new BLT frame so will need to adapt it. I could just get the end caps to enlarge from 135mm to 142mm, but I'd rather have a full on, 12mm bolt through rear.
Is there an option that gives you a tool free axle which is self centering, like Rockshox's Maxle? Is this what the Hope conversion kits do? Or are you left needing tools to remove and install the rear wheel and an awkward job aligning the wheel, frame and axle when fitting?
It should come with the frame. Swap out the bits in the hub and your away. Or at least that happened building the ltc for the missus
Thanks. Yes, the dealer just confirmed that the frame comes with the axle.
142mm is a full on, bolt-through rear.
Looks like I need this:

...do I really not need to change anything else, like 2 of the bearings? Seems too good to be true....
It's a piece of cake, no need to touch the bearings.
Lovely.
Congratulations on your new arrival.
if you have the EVO hub just swap the end caps, Hope eh what a bunch of clever people. Just take care if you have 180mm rotors on the back as it will sit close to the frame, there is no slot as such for the wheel and you can get rotor frame issues when fitting.

I just have the standard Hope Pro 2 rear hub, is there a kit to quickly change this to a 142x12 through axle, without rebuilding the wheel? โ
yes, you need to change the hub internals (the ProII & ProII evo share the same shell and freehub but the internals are different to accommodate the bigger axle)
Probably this one (no gaurntee)

Any hope stockist will confirm what you need.
Thanks Mike! That looks like the puppy ๐
