This essay appeared in the Guardian yesterday, and I think it is good enough to warrant broad circulation.

Apologies if someone posted it already; if not, please read.

Did it answer the question??

What have people got against cyclists?

Slow 2 wheeled hindrance of a **** er in lycra get the hell out of my way or i might run you over.. FFS you are in my way... Get out of my way NOW!! and im angry about it attitude.

Why do people feel like this??

It wont be until this attitude is changed / addressed that the hate will continue.

The author does try to explore solutions, and while nothing is easy, it is not an open-ended, easily-dismissed piece.
