Who doing it then?

Going to watch Terrahwak and Twinklydave's progress online. Who else should I look out for?

TJ.
Good luck.
Keep your hip flash hidden from the marshals - they might requisition it - for medical research, legislation or even personal enjoyment!
I have to wait 'til the 22/23 May for my first solo effort.
Not sure how you'll have been able to put all the training in of late.

Ta ti29r

one previous 24 hr and a couple of team events. I really am no racer and now I am swinging between excitement and fear. Getting in the top half of the solos will be my Olympic gold.

3rd puffer here. Quad first time, solo last year, solo single speed this year. Managed the full 24hrs last year and squeezed out 15 laps. Starting to remeber what it took to do even that, getting a bit worried!!

My 5th solo 'Puffer on a SS.

Been sick as a dog for several weeks. Still weak as a kitten and shouldn't be doing it. Won't have any support because my wife doesn't realise what I'm up to yet. But this promises to be an epic 'Puffer, so it's not to be missed. ๐Ÿ™‚

Target - 1 lap - even if I have to crawl round with the bike on my back. Doubt I'll last long enough to wear out a set of pads ๐Ÿ™

Anything more than that and I'll be ecstatic.

On the back of all the riding I've personally been doing this winter in the snow and enjoying the whole thing, I will hope to join you next year.
I wonder how many others this might also apply to?
It's retaining fitness levels over the Nov+ period that seems to escape me. Work really screws my routine up something chronic in the lead up to Xmas.
Look forward to some good picture galleries!

Go Alex Slaven. I was going to say I ride 'with' him, but thats stretching credibility. I'm more familiar with seeing him spin over a distant peak while barely breathing. He'll ride out to a trailhead to meet us, ride our legs off, then ride home. For a solo amateur rider he's dedicated. Bring on the darkness!

Thanks for your support folks. I shall always wear it.

I am a bit disappointed with 9 laps and 26th - but after lap 7 I couldn't continue safely - not my legs or my head failed - but my arms - I just couldn't hold onto the bike anymore or steer it - the slushy sloppy ice descents really took it out of me.

Still - a reasonably respectable performance for an slow old man. I even overtook a few folk ๐Ÿ™‚

I don't have to do it again either - I have completed it and that will do.

So thanks again to the marshals, medics and traildiggers without whom there would have been no event and thanks to STWites for the positive vibes - It helped
