Gale force winds are predicted. Presumably the gondola won't run if that's the case? It's also going to cost me an outrageous amount of money on the train but that's less of an issue.

Wind will shut it though it's obviously fairly common up there so needs to be pretty strong (sorry not sure how strong). A bigger problem for you is I'm fairly certain it shuts for the season this weekend, check the website.

No, they shut on Wednesday the 15th. I'm sure it'll be fine, whats a gale in Scotland?

Was planning to get up there for tuesday. Think I'll just have to man up and give it a go. Can always do an XC ride lower down if it's not running.

They'll shut the gondalalala if there are gales over 35mph. You can phone the Nevis Range on 01397 705825 for info.

Thanks - according to Met Office mountain weather:

Gale or even severe gale force westerly winds, average speeds of 40 to 50mph and gusts to 70.

Balls.

Track's running pretty sweet too, was racing there at the weekend and it's the grippiest I've known it for years ๐Ÿ˜€

update - still raining but the wind isn't too bad, think the Gondola will be open but visibility at the top will be pretty poor

Thanks. According to the website it was shut due to wind today, so I'm glad I didn't make the trip. Going to Innerleithen next weekend as an alternative I think.
