Looking to buy a couple of stems for my roadie and XC mtb. Looking at the Ritchey WCS c260 stem linky for the roadie, then notice that its actual marketed as an MTB stem as well.

Any experience of this stem? It looks fairly light for road use, so am dubious as to whether its suitable for use on the anthem. Won't be doing anything to gnar, but the occasional 3 foot drop isn't out the question.

Or should I save my teeth and go with the Thompson as standard?

Been on Thomsons for years but recently got an Easton Haven. Lighter and markedly stiffer so I'd go for one of those.

I run Thomson and Haven on my mountain bikes. Prefer the latter for my 750mm wide bars and it's not exactly heavy.

I've been running a ritchey WCS stem on my mountain bike for a few years now, I've not died yet.

I have Easton. C90 carbon stems & Ritchey WCS carbon & prefer the latter - along with bars & seat post. Lighter and far more stylish.
