Come on then, we all have things we think we can do pretty well on a bike and things that we really ought to be a lot better at. Mine..
Good: Tight singletrack
Bad: Steep drop-offs
Good - sitting
bad - riding
Good - Technical climbs and descents
Bad - Jumping (very bad)
Good - Falling off,
Bad - Staying on it.
Terribly, appallingly bad at big, steep drop-offs. I can't even get over that first one at the top of Jacob's Ladder. Mental block maybe?
Slightly reasonable on climbs.
Good - Pretty much everything
Bad - Can only do wheelies for 3/4 of a mile so could be better at that i guess
Bad - going uphill
Good - flat straight bits
Spelling.
You're (you are) which is what you meant to say....
or
Your (your)
Good:
Technical climbs - ability is there, but stops when fitness levels reached.
Singletrack - good flow, but not necessarily better than anyone else.
Downhill - never dabbed on the Beast (including on my HT) and can go as fast as anyone I've ridden with on any Peaks descents.
Bad:
Wheelies - it astounds me that I can actually ride a bike when I realise how awful my balance is on just one wheel.
Anything that makes you think twice - normally makes me think too many times to actually do it.
Big drops - would take an injection of MTFU to make me do anything over 3ft, although the 'fear' is getting better.
Jumps - scare the shit out of me, but I'm trying a few and getting a little bit of confidence.
Steep - shit myself.
Fitness - the strength is there, but my lungs are like two paper bags (pneumonia, bronchitis & smoking)
Good: riding for hours on tarmac at fast speed/cadence ...be popular on here that one
Bad: Apparently I bleed for hours but the concusion means I only have their word for it.
Good(ish)- going uphill, heavy (road) traffic, bone dry descents, distance
Bad- mud, criteriums, rocky descents
Superbad- muddy,rocky slippery wet descents
Good - everything
Bad - lieing
Good - going down
Bad - riding back up again ๐
The fitness will come I'm sure of it...
bunnyhopping on flats, the amount of time spent by me outside my house trying to get the rear wheel off the ground
Good-100k enduros,cyclo cross,big trails (bmx),tech.
Bad-Riding with gears or suspension
Good - at sort of carrying on at a steady pace on trails.
Bad - at psycologically talking myself out of drops, steeps, wet roots, loose rocks. Can't bunnyhop either.
Good: Good at climbing for a fat man.
Bad: Climbing. Jumps. Really bad, would rather try an awkward, steep roll then what would probably be an easy jump. Cuzz I don't got the skilllzzzzz ๐
Good - Sweet, flowing singletrac goodness
Bad - Wicked drops and jumps innit
Odd thing is, I can jump the BMX like a nutter, but not the MTBs
Good, mending.
Bad, riding.
Nothing, & I have yet to see a STW member who is good at everything, although I have meet some extremely good all round & specialist riders from here.
Experience tells all, & to be the best at all of it is impossible.

You havent met me then yet? ๐
Good - everything
Bad - nothing
Lol, I have never met anyone with big enough bollox to say that before, good luck to you, & I look forward to meeting you in the future.
Well, when your really good you may as well shout about it before you get too old.
I may meet you on a STW ride one day!!!
Good: Going uphill.
Bad: Jumpy stuff, I can do it but I'm not happy about it and will invariably cock it up at the last minute.
Good - slow steep, tech stuff (up or down)
Bad - Pinning it (dude) DH like a proper DHer. Less a question of skills, more one of attitude.
Wheelies
Jumping with any kind of style.
Good: Going at the same pace for hours and hours
Bad: Anything involving going fast, either up or downhill.
Good- powering up climbs, flowy singletrack and i can jump and land but there is no style
bad-skinnys, mental block i suppose
Good - Breaking into a sweat when my front wheel is higher than my back wheel
Bad - Resisting the temptation to buy shiny things
greig (raggedonair) isnt boasting .... havin ridden with him hes a very tallented uphiller and downhiller....
Rode a 5 spot with totems away from me on a long climb - i was on my 22lb merida....but with a ****ed achillies
then made the bike descent the kilbo like it was on rails
I think we should do that ride again ๐
good at decending
bad at climbing (not strictly speaking that bad at it ....just bad compared to the other whippets in Expert .... make me look like a fraud till we hit the downhills)
Good: trackstands,climbing.
Bad;wheelies and manuals
Good - Bumpy rough downhill stuff
Bad - Tight twisty stuff and anything a 14yo is good at on a bike.
Good: fluking my way out of doomed situations then smiling and blagging that i meant to.
Bad: manuals and skinnys. i get better at skinnys with practice but rarely encounter them unless i make them myself so dont really bother. manuals i dont worry about cos im not planning on running my bike chainless and with a bit of momentum i can pop my wheel up and hold it without pedalling anyway.
Good - not falling off
not breaking stuff
Bad - Anything that might compromise the only 2 things I am good at.
like radogair, im good at everything.
