Going on our hols next week, got a cottage 2 miles from coed y brennin. I've got a pass from the wife to ride 1 day, so going to do mbr trail while the family check out the adventure area on site, but looking for other things to do near by unbike related, with a 6 & 2 year olds. Any suggestions?
Fairbourne steam railway at Tywyn, only a couple of miles away.
That sounds great for them, one day sorted. Don't mind traveling, but within 30 mins from trawsfyndd.
There's also the railway at Blaenau Ffestiniog. A visit to Portmeirion?
Centre for alternative technology at corris.
Play on the beach at Aber Dyfi.
Will try to have atleast one day on the beach, kids will be happy digging and playing on their bikes all day.
Need somewhere for the wettest days now
Go to the Indian in the centre of Dolgellau. It's an bona fide time machine. You open the door, walk in and you're instantly in 1982!
The Llechwedd slate quarry at Blanaeu Ffestiniog is good for kids and you could sneak on the uplift too!
Ffestiniog Railway always good for a day out too, and if kids / you into steam trains you can wander round the sheds at Boston Lodge and chat to the mechanics & volunteers.
Beach-wise, Harlech is closer than Aberdovey and just as good IMHO.
Plenty of geocaching in the area too.
King Arthur's Labyrinth in corris.
