Whey hey, we is off to the land of sun, staying in a place called Playa Blanca.

As luck would have it, my wife finds me irritating when sat by a pool for more than 7 minutes.

So does anyone know of 'good' bike hire places.

You'll like Playa Blanca, it's quite nice, we have a villa and spend every other Winter there.

I usually pop down to Revolution Bikes in Puerto del Carmen to hire a bike

Nice bunch of people, they'll bring a bike to you or drop you up wind somewhere for a great ride back - it's always windy in Lanzarote

We hired a couple of decent carbon racers from a place in Playa Blanca.

The owner was very helpful giving us ideas for routes and setting the bikes up. Can recommend, but it was 3 years ago since I was there.

Bloke off here sorted me out with a good hire bike - dropped it at my hotel as well. lighteningbolt is his login but I'm not sure how much he posts.

I did a couple of routes in the mountains just north of Playa Blanca - some good stuff there although there's not a blade of grass to be found. The gpsies site has some routes. One track up by a goat farm will test the sphinchters - innocuous singletrack with fall of certain death off to one side.

I used papagyobikes in playa blanca a month ago, they will email you some pdf routes and elevation profiles if you email them before you go.

Decent enough bikes - ghost axr49 if i recall for 24 euro per day so pretty good value.

Just make sure you take more water than you think youll need and dont underestimate how energy sapping the sun can be in the mountains, i ran out of water and had to lie in the shade for a spell to complete my ride 😯

I used Revolution Bikes for my mountain bike, just 14€ for one day for a hardtail with computer. Went back for 3 more days and paid just 36€ for those days. They gave me maps with routes marked on, brilliant bike and service. Same issue with water - I didn't have enough either even though I took 2 litres!
