Things have changed man! (where for 26" tyres and the likes)

Due to an involuntary hiatus from mtb I no longer seem to be up on things in this world. I used to head to CRC and order what was needed and job done. However this now appears to be a shadow of it's former self!

For someone like me who still is on the old 26" wheels and everything that goes with them, where is best to shop online for parts?

Cheers!

Would a doner bike be a good option?  I have a on-one with quite a few nice bits on it gathering dust.

I bought the entire world supply of 26" tyres when I heard there were plans to change standards, I have them all in my shed. You'll have to pry them out of my cold dead hands.

A donor bike is always a good option! If I can recycle/re-use then all the better! 🙂

Didn't I buy a red Cannondale off you back in the day?

I use ebay if I need old skool kit 🙂

I was in Decathlon earlier for something unrelated, and they had a fair old stock of 26" Michelins.

Yeah, I was dezb back then..  The mechs (STX-RC!) and cranks (CODA!) from that bike are still going, on another old 26er 🙂

No you don't. I've got a Tioga tyre mountain, with an approach hill made up of Panaracer & IRC.

But I use Merlin loads

Gracias Ampthill - I guess I'm sad to see CRC no longer what they were. Merlin look decent though.

I always liked CRC as it was a goto for everything, used to be great!

Editing to add, the problem I have is that it is a really old bike, a lot of tyres are too wide to fit in the rear.

Chain Reaction isn't Chain Reaction anymore, it's an off shoot of Evans that's now part of the Sports Direct empire. The real CRC went bust and Mike Ashley bought the name.
