Nice one. You need to go single ring at the front to really appreciate the pain when you winch past your mates ๐Ÿ˜‰

Fattys are awesome bikes! Yours needs a lot less assembly than mine did, though. Enjoy it!

would be interested in your thoughts on it after you have ridden it?

First ride was a short shake-down. Quickly decided that my arms are too short for the 810mm bars provided, the saddle doesnt fit my arse, and trying to guess 12psi by squeezing a fat tyre doesn't work.

After some adjustments (pinched the bars and saddle off my singlespeed, and bought a digital pressure gauge from Halfords) I went out for a proper ride last night.

I was surprised how ordinarily bike-like it feels on hardpack stuff. Rolled along quite nicely with 10psi in the tyres. The relaxed head angle and fork rake mean the front wheel can swing a bit so need to concentrate until used to this, but on the other hand, in the soft stuff and sand its very stable.

There was much less 'wallow' from the soft tyres than I thought there would be. What there is loads of though, is traction! Ploughing through acres of soft mud and keeping momentum was a doddle. Steering in the slime is, well, random. Instead of cutting in like a narrower tyre, the floaters just float - slipping sideways through lumps, bumps and ruts and making corners guesswork. As soon as there's something tangible to grip on though, you can ride right through anything. Roots, ruts, small trees etc just disappear beneath the tyres!

Playing in a small sand quarry really demonstrated the bikes abilities - my skinny tyred friends slewed to a halt immediately, whereas the fatties rolled on through. Point it up hill and the masses of traction will keep you going until you fall off the back! Little drops and steeps felt very controlled with the relaxed geometry too.

I think I'm going to have some fun with this. Want to buy a second hand singlespeed? ๐Ÿ˜€
