I'm working nights on the M25 and pass through part of Epping Forest on the way to the depot for a briefing. Some of the woodland looks like it might be a bit tasty. I tend to wake up at 1pm so have afternoons free. I'm actually staying at South Mimms, but that doesn't look as promising. I'm thinking old school hardtail, rather than the big bike
Epping Forest is nice for riding, have you got your bike?
I use it for CX training when I'm not down here, kryton rides there as well I think.
And yes here are some s****y places there.
Yes some lovely trails in Epping Forest, you need a guide really though.
Based where you are, you need a friendly local to show you round Broxbourne Woods.

I second the notion that you need someone to show you around. I spent a load of time riding the Tripster round Epping Forest last summer and I still have no idea where anything is. That's fine for me, as I was just wanting to log some miles off road, but if you want the good bits for an MTB, then you could ride round for days and not find them.
Haven't got my bike this week, but considering squeezing it into my truck next week
