Grey here, and I'm a bit battered and scabby from yesterday's crash. I'll have my cup of tea, gobble some Ibupofen, repair my bike, then go riding!

Taking the kids out for an hour's thrash round the woods, then back home for cricket & football (come on Oxford!) then a 50 miler on the road before BBQ on the beach.

Oh and I've got next week off work 8)

Aching like a mofo after yesterday's little pootle around Longleat in the (unforecast ๐Ÿ˜• ) deluge, but coffee is having its usual restorative effect. Once I've got some mud tyres on the Fargo, yup, out for a quick one to try out the freshly-fitted flipped Mary bars.

And I do believe that's some blue sky breaking through too ๐Ÿ˜€

45 hilly offroad miles yesterday. Normally that wouldn't be an issue but my legs feel a bit loose for some strange reason today. So much so that when my front brake broke within 5 minutes of setting off this morning, I wasn't too bothered and just came back home.

Lazy day today methinks.

Great 2 hours of cheek this morning. Fox, ravens, sparrowhawk for company, no other humans. Back in time to cook pancakes for the family breakfast.

A wet one over on Penmachno this morning (surprise surprise). Took the Alpine 160 out for the first time in ages having fallen out of love with it somewhat. My god it was good fun although I got over-cocky on the last decent ending up in a tree. Just before that I was thinking to myself, 'hmm best take it easier as I'm off to Cham in a couple of weeks' and BANG front wheel gives and off I go. Full brekkie after that and a play on the decks this afternoon. ๐Ÿ™‚

Had a nice ride through Hayfield up to south head and down beet lane, and back along the canal

Missed the sun but chatted with an attractive young lady who was coming down Highgate Road on a hardtail

Fairly chilled xc ride but with some fairly evil hills. But the climbs were dry and my climbing Fu quite good. Shame my descending Fu was a bit absent due to yesterday's crash damage. Cracking views across Somerset..

Planned a quiet spin through Chicksands on my own. Ended up spending the afternoon there with my four year old on his Rothan hitting the 4x track! He wants to spend 'a week' there! Good times ๐Ÿ™‚

After a nice solo ride yesterday to test my theory that my heart is fine ๐Ÿ˜‰ I went out for a pootle with the G/F today.
In 5 minutes she managed to hit a gatepost, crash off the bike, ripping up her right calf with her pedal. Then, she managed to get bitten by the farmers dog as he came past on his quad bike (the farmer, not the dog!)
Now sporting semi-matching puncture wounds on both calves....

Out round Mellor/Marple/Hayfield today. Really enjoyed it, was expecting it to piss down and it didn't, thought it would be a mud-fest and it wasn't, thought I'd be a bit bored but was really good to be out.

Didn't even seem that busy which is surprising given the weather, thought I'd be stuck behind loads of horse-riders and dog walkers etc.

After chatting about wanting to build new trails, I found some new ones down my local (Stanmer Park, Brighton).

Off camber, dusty, skinny, wiggly wooded singletrack after a day's work. I'm slowly connecting it into an epic circuit of awesome magnitude.
