Well me and my partner made the most of this beautiful weather and headed there today, and well i jolly well went and did it!
After much hesitation and thinking in my mind of what was said on here and my partners encouragement as always i don't know how he puts up with me,The Slab has finally become another hard trail centre feature to tick off on my list.
Such wonderful weather too, what an utterly fantastic day to achieve this on,pure mountain biking bliss.

what other trail centre feature's should i aim for?

I've heard that 'the slab' is quite a fear maker. Well done - I'm happy for you!

Good work.

Just down the road (sort of) is the slab at stainburn just outside otley. Short, steep, mossy, tricky roll in, 90 degree roll out. As its short there's less distance to fall though.

Stainburn should be your next destination, it's a mini challenge wonderland.

Carlos - It won't, rode there at the weekend, asked when we were coming up to the fated drop and it turns our we'd done it about 20mins previous. Don't know what the fuss is about?

Is it a werewolf out of those vampire films where' there's no blood or fangs?

Well done! I trust you ignored the practical advice and went with MTFU ๐Ÿ˜€
There's always the rock steps at Lee if you've not done those,

as well as a more benign slab

Steve, I know, maybe I should have put a smiley in there too, I think It should be called the Fluffy Kitten. I only guessed what it was when I rode it the first time and there was half a dozen guys stood there with bikes all over the trail studying it with intent.

Some major slab action going on at Dalbeattie and Kirroughtree too. Dalbeattie has what, the skills loop slab, the Stane slab, the qualifier, the Slab, the terrible twins, and rock n roll!

Thank you it was such a relief to get down this in one piece and such a joy at the same time, marvelous.
i am extremely hesitant over going to Stainburn and Lee Quarry from what i have been told by my other colleagues.
Highly techinical is the term they use for these two centre's.

Nice one, and well done for not getting wound up by all the macho willy waving in the other thread.

Owned or survived? Or somewhere in between?

Where is the slab at Gisburn?

When I went it was wet and toss, I remember being about half way around and riding over a lot of boulders with nothing but really soft mud between them, cursing my SPD pedals as I had no confidence in the surface.

Then the black section around the rocks was too gnarr for my 100mm travel HT so I wussed out of all that and rode the red route.

Personally I preferred to fly around Llandegla on my bike, perhaps with a FS bouncer and a big dose of skills/mtfu I would return and enjoy Gisburn more.

i dont think im quite up to lee quarry or stainburn as of yet.
hence the skills course.
my Ibis Mojo certainly makes the slab far more feasible.
