It's improved quite a bit imo, a lot of things happen much quicker now.

Except for random threads which don't update for several hours. That seems to be a new feature.

I am not sure but I get the impression that which threads don't update depends on the individual.

Just to bang Cougar's drum - any specific examples of what you don't like at the moment? If you can give details the huge tech team can allocate some time to check it out, otherwise nothings going to change.

As it stands I’ve now gone 3 days without the delay post bug. Anyone else?

I had, until today, when it cropped up again. Getting ads logged in on mobile again as well.

Some posts not appearing for over 30 minutes at the moment, so the posting delay is alive and kicking

When I started this weekend's ride picture thread it posted straight away, but only the text posted.

I'm not sure how long it took for the pictures to show up.

I looked  after 15 minutes and they weren't there so went and did a load of other stuff.

When i looked a couple of hours later they had appeared.

Then to my surprise I posted a video that was linked from Flickr and that worked and posted straight away and is still showing this morning.

F1 thread is stuck again!

Links and quotes are unreadable for me - no contrast, v. light blue on white.

Just been to update my payment method and the data entry areas are virtually unreadable. The text flips from a light grey to dark grey. Very dark grey background and a not quite so dark grey for the text doesn't work!

Any news on the post delays fix too?

I now get an email telling me every time someone starts a new topic. How do I turn that off?

go to forum tab in your profile. Then click subscriptions. 

search isn’t working for me (tried to use it to find this thread). It says “working” and nothing happens.

 

It works for me, but can be very slow.  Maybe takes a minute or two...

Mine now doing same on Android phone

Search tip. 
use advanced search and narrow your search down. It’s much quicker. When you enter a search term in the main box and hit search it searches through everything in the database, which is millions of records. If you were searching for a username for example, using advanced search and specifying usernames your search would involve only 140k records and not millions.

Still works fine on my phone. Samsung Galaxy A54, Android 14.

One of the major challenges for the STW tech team to deal with, is the apparant randomness of the various issues for different users and different threads.

Mines fine too,moto g13 using chrome

Looks like it’s screen size not operating system or browser causing the issue. Needs a tweek for smaller phones.

Fine here, android 13 on samsung s20 FE.

First time in a wee while for me - clicking on the double arrow on this thread title to see latest post (reportedly from Mark) and I go to the first post on page one. Latest post on page 30 isn't showing Marks post.

Not had this is a wee while.

Everything else seems to be working very well for me, but I don't tend to bother about images and fancy stuff.

Edit - posted this and it is right after the post it was showing me instead of Mark's (anono at 10:00), so unsure when I'll see the post from Mark.

Now I've posted, I'm being taken to the last post again...my post appeared immediately.

Same issue as many others have experienced, just not happened to me for a couple of weeks.

Still not getting the updated thread. I can see who the latest poster is on the summary, but when I get to the actual posts, the latest post isn't there.

Is the forum fubared again? Last post I can see on the UK Government thread is 3.46 this afternoon. About 6 hours ago.

It was the DJI thread for me. 

Don't know if it's just me but I can't work how to create a new thread/topic.

Yesterday I clicked on "Forum" from the top left hand menu and after a while of searching about managed to create a new thread. Today I can't remember how I did it and after a minute of faffing still can't find out how to do it.

Edit: ah ok, sussed it. You've got to click on the little unnamed burger menu and select Bike or Chat (which won't mean much to new users) then the Add Topic button shows.

Definitely need an Add Topic button from and centre of the Forum home page, it's far too hidden where it is. This forum doesn't exist without people adding topics so it's got to be easy.

Posting lag is definitely still a thing.  Looking at Cougar's thread at the top of the "latest threads" page, it says the last post was 2 minutes ago.  I've noticed other posts on it being notified on the summary recently.  And yet, if I open it, the latest post I can see is two hours ago. I see this intermittently on some threads, but others seem fine. 

Edit:  The thread summary at 07:42 says there are 17 posts on that thread. I can only see 9. 

Is there any way to hide threads?
