Well I'm starting to get used to the new forum.

I can only imagine the turmoil caused to all of the poor buggers working on the move.  Having worked on large scale live transitions I think you've done well.  Many thanks.

Just switch the names of live and preprod with each other and problem solved. No need to thank me. 🙂

Click on the insert link and then add your link to Postimg or whatever you use.

It's like the old image button

I'm just confused. The forum seemed to be down this afternoon then came back.

Before it went down it was defaulting to highlight threads with new (unread?) posts  which you could mark all posts as 'read' with a button. It doesn't do that now and no more button.

Once in a thread, it was defaulting to the first post of the thread, even threads hundreds of pages long. You had a button to take you to the last post. No more. It still defaults to the first post and you now have to use a drop down number list to pick the last page in the thread then click down the posts to find the most recent unread.

Or am I just not doing 'it' right?

But the 'posted instantly' confirmation didn't error post immediately...

I suspect the highlighting and the "jump to newest post" is related to the missing posts issue, as since they disappeared posts seem to be appearing more reliably.

Clicking the arrow to the right of the title, that takes you to the most recent post in the thread (assuming the post isn't hidden due to the missing posts glitch)

IDNKT thank-you. All my 'missing' posts above have now appeared - in gibberish as I'm out of the edit window to turn them into non mangled Engrish...

I tell you what would be cool, if you could hide topics you had no interest in, so you have a sort of curated set of topics. Frexample, I could select and hide gravel threads, or politics threads.  Can that be done?

@rockhopper70 I achieve half of that by never visiting the general forum, and I find I'm not tempted to click on obviously gravel threads. 😄

Not sure if it’s posted elsewhere but when clicking on images in posts it often only displays the first image in the post instead of the one you clicked on.

Also I seem to be liking posts by mistake when scrolling with my left thumb on my phone…

I'm not usually one for complaining and I know there are individual people involved here, with jobs and families and egos, but forums have been around for decades at this point and everything needed to make a forum work has already been figured out. It must take somone actively ****ing about behind the scenes to make what has worked for years no longer work.

Things I post don't show up. Things other people post show up multiple times. Links don't work. Posting images doesn't work. I'm a full member when the auto-membership-renewal decides it's going to work.

I'm not even close to being an internet wizard and I honestly don't want to be offensive here, but as I've heard before: I don't need to be a Michelin Star chef to know when my dinner tastes like shit.

What gives?

The toilets in there are also weird, apparently based on submarine toilets.

I suspect from no tech knoledge but reading what Mark has said.

Its vastly more complex than most fora given tbe integration with the magazine membership status and the history.

They are trying to produce a rolls royce service on a skoda budget

None of the off the shelf software does what stw need it to do

yep I bet that sums it up nicely.
it’s plainly a gargantuan task.
and as you intimated STW is hardly in a position to chuck an IT team at it.
Fingers crossed it can all be fixed.

when Adobe switched their user forum SW there were issues for months. It’s not just STW.

Why does the link - Singletrack World Magazine Forum – Singletrack World Magazine no longer go to a combined forum? Is that what the latest tab is for? Why not just go there first like before rather than the sub directory page?

If the "latest" is the new combined, why does it need to tell me what part of the forum each post comes from? Surely I can work that out from the thread title.  Seems to be surplus information that's just cluttering the place up. It is very busy now.

Sorry that's a bit of moaning,  I do like this place and you all have my sympathy in having to sort this.

Best of luck.

Yes! The little sticking out tab thing has gone from bottom left that obscured text! 🙂

Now we (me I suppose and admit) just need navigation buttons at the bottom of a thread page 👍

Does having 'paged' rather than 'page' in the URL have any bearing on anything?  Is that not going to break a load of old links?

Not sure if this is a new issue, but I posted a new thread in the bike forum. I can only see it in the latest posts view even tho it is tagged as being in the bike forum. 40 mins or so since posted and replies not showing (I added one to see). If this is a known issue, please ignore!

Anyone else having trouble seeing replies to threads they've started? The forum list shows I posted 20 minutes ago and someone replied 5 minutes ago. When I click on my tread, I can't see any reply.

I don't know if this is already covered here but.... how do I now embed youtube videos? I used to paster the YT Share url into the Link panel. I tried that on the Gorrick race related thread but it just posted the url as a link and never embedded it.

It's the same with Flickr links.

Was working yesterday morning and now doesn't.

I'm still waiting for a post of mine to show from two hours ago too.

Seems to be getting worse again for posts not displaying.

Yep same - they show in the tree at the top, and then are only visible as a popup when clicking the tree, but are not visible in line.

Nope. Our redirect rules are taking care of that.

We are testing a fix for the update bug in the morning. Andy is preparing our test server now. If it works we'll push it live tomorrow.

No doubt a daft question but has there been a change to the styling over the last 2 days?

I'm now struggling to read the blue thread titles against the black background. Aware many others have posted about this already, but the blue thread titles now appears to be darker and thinner and is now really difficult to read.

I'm assuming this would be a stylesheet change to the colour...any chance it can be a brighter colour?

At a guess this colour scheme is now failing accessibility levels. Suspect it wasn't much better before but last 2 days the blue has almost disappeared against the black background for me.

Everything else about the forum.aeema.to.be improving, which is brilliant - hats off to all the hard effort getting this in.

Oh balls. It's back 😔

Couldn't it go on the right at least so it doesn't cover text you're trying to read so much?

I made two posts on the Ukraine thread this morning. The first appeared instantly and I let out a small whoop. I thought "wahay, they've cracked it"! I even edited the post and that went through straight away. My second post still hasn't appeared 😔 In a Bullseye "look at what you could have won" moment.

The layout has gone weird. Big blank space down the right, forum list slightly right justified, with the singletrack stuff squashed over on the right.

"Working" twirly thing took 10 seconds.  It was another 10 seconds before the page actually refreshed.

Definitely an improvement.  Nice work.  What was the issue?
