Looking out for a new lid - want go purely on aesthetics - what have you seen that has an air of panache?

oo - I LIKE those Urgebikes helmets - the ENDUR-O-MATIC Kandy Ltd especially.

Website is a pain, though - am I right thinking there's no UK shops??

Urge helmets do now have a UK Distributor. Not sure whether anywhere has any in stock yet though

I got a giro zen cos I read up about them and MTB bike helmets in general. they looked cool on other people in the mags and on the internet - In real life I look like a bellend.

Bike helmets make you look like a safety concious bellend.

is bellend a swearword?

I love my Flux as a helmet, but it's ugly as sin. Xen in weathered white or in the old fabric finish maybe.

xcstu -that just makes you look like a bellend looking to pollinate a nice big flower.

There is nothing aesthetically pleasing about any cycle helmet. Familiarity lessons the full horror but really look at them, they all ming beyond reason. By all means get one but don't kid yourself that it is ever going to look good.

those Kask track ones with the big visor - completely impractical for anything other than track but goddamn cool

the LAS road helmets look pretty cool as well, not a fan of the catlike tho

I've got a Giro Hex, but it looks like a mushroom on top of my bonce.

Don't suit helmets at all, they always look like they are perched on top of my head

Like the look of those Urge endur-o-matic, but can't find any info at all on sizing

I think CRC will have them in stock the middle of next month

I found the Xen very hot.
I always ended up grabbing my old Giro Encinal that cost peanuts.
THe Xen has a new owner now though...whoever picked it up after I left it on the car roof leaving Cannock Chase one day. 🙂

Bascially the choice with open-face cycle helmets is that you can either look like a futuristic sci-fi character or a WW1 German infantryman.

Take your pick.

Was going to say the same, I like this particular version.

http://www.bike-mailorder.de/shop/Protection-Helmets/Helmet/XC/AM-Helmets/Urge-Bike-Endur-O-Matic-helmet-LTD-Fabien-Barel::20261.html

Or get one of these.

I'd quite like to go to fancy dress parties as Fabian Barel but it does look like it might be a bit sweaty?
