As the great Baz Luhrmann once said, "Look after your knees, you'll miss them when they're gone"

@binners - didn't see this thread before. @jaymod's post is a very good one, I've spent quite a lot of time with physios and knee surgeon this year.

I now have two dodgy knees, broke ACL in my left knee 30 years ago and last year did same / worse in right knee. Excuse blunt instrument approach but pain is a warning sign, body saying stop doing this and get better/treatment. If its primarily a winter problem then I'd agree with knee warmers, it's hardly news that older folk prefer warmer climates and your knee is prematurely old due to accumulated injuries. (so move South 😉 ) A visit to a specialist and an MRI scan would be worthwhile, then you have to make a decision, knee surgery is complex and the joint is a difficult one for the doctors and surgeons. I've been suggested ACL replacement (cutting out some of your hamstring and sticking it in your knee) plus meniscus surgery (cutting away, they cannot add/repair) but with a likely 24 month recovery at my age (50) I'm focusing on the stuff in @jaymod's post
