Has anyone heard of or done the Frosterley loop? Supposed to be a hard 22 mile cross country loop taking in part of Hamsterley Forest. Only trail i can find is Egglestone Circular which is 36 miles.Can Anyone help me please
I <think> you are getting the name wrong. Doctors Gate (Hamsterley one) is around 22 miles, goes very near Frosterley and takes in Hammers.

There are a few, ahem, modifications I'd make to the route shown to take out the road sections, but look at a map and you'll see where the short-cuts are. There is a couple of hints on that link too 😉
We did that. It has some pretty clear signs about not going down the cheeky tracks. That means a lot of road descent. I wouldn't bother doing it again
