Hi all,
As you may or may not know, the big lump of Yorkshire love has been having a bit of a hard time of it lately. Anyway, he's getting out on the bike a bit more so we've decided to have a bit of a run out with him as a good way to cheer him up and ride again with the good people of this here forum.
24th July at Delamere, Teetwosugars is kindly leading us around. The pace will be VERY sedate and the route easy. This isnt a full on ride out, its a day out socialising with a bit of a pootle thrown in. It would be great to see anyone that wants to join us.
I'll post the meeting details when Nick gets back form his jollies.
Hope to see you then!
Do I have to bring the tandem for him?
On my doorstep and given that technical skills will not be required I look forward to attending!!!
Surfer
TJ, I'm bringing a trailer. We all have to take turns pedalling him around.
๐
Rats, I'd come along, but I appear to be soloing 24/12 that weekend. Ah well, have a good one.
Graham , Tony and I will be there .It is the same day as the next Brownbacks ride but they'll have to manage
mart
My neck of the woods, so I'll pop along all being well. Will be nice to put a few names-to-faces.
Is it the Delamere Forest in Cheshire ?
Dont know why, I always though it more Northerly. Probably confused with Dalby.
Will check with other half to double check we have nothing booked, If I am free I will come along.
PS I am in worcestershire - Anyone localish we could share a lift??? I can get three bikes on the rack.
Crap, up in Scotland that weekend for a christening. Would of been good to catch up with you guys.
Hi, i will be up for a ride that day, i will ride in and meet you all somewhere. Just let me know where and when!
24th July at Delamere
change the date to the 23rd, we need you marshalling Lowey ๐
Lowey, put my name down.......... ๐
aye obviously Lowey
Can you still eat cake big man?
Seein as delamere was one of my riding areas in the 80's it'd be churlish not to. In line with the general bimblathon vibe, I'll bring a couple of big wheel silly bikes if the 29er curious want to play
Can I hug him if I come along?
Never been to Delamere but it's only 20 or so miles from me. From what I've seen/read, I take it its all rideable on a cx bike? ( guessing there are no plans to take in the DH bits). I am aiming to get back on the bike for the first time since February by then....
Edit: its either that or a six inch full boinger- and we wouldn't want to be overbiked.
My local ride as well, so I'm in. ๐ .Just got back in from there, managed to get a extra ride in due to being on nightshift this week, and it's as muddy in places as you can expect in Winter, got a nice layer of watered down peaty soil on the patio now, better go and finish off the cleaning of bike and stuff.
Do we need to bring cakes, or have a stop at Eddisbury Tea Room / Cider Farm? ๐
anyone who comes can have a kiss and a cuddle.
the DH bits will be greatly appreciated, but i will need a push back uphill............ ๐
No tongues....I'll be there.
Sounds like race fitness is not required so count me in!
The Southern Yeti - MemberCan I hug him if I come along?
have you got arms like Mr Tickle?
lot of man to get your arms round
๐
Count me in as I haven't been down 'no brains 2'. ๐
Bit of a shank from here, have plans for then if they don't come off I'll look into this.
As one of Ton's body doubles with arms plenty long enough to hug him + I'm the proud owner of "one of his cast off's" I am very much up for a gentle ride round Delamere + cake.
& as its only 1/2 hour from home it suits my domestic situation. Will probably bring a couple of hangers on too ๐
Drac, that is a massive drive for you!!!
anyone who comes can have a kiss and a cuddle.
Who can resist?
Myself and nbt are planning on coming.
Lowey - for some reason I thought Ton didn't know that some riding pals were coming to join him. Had it in mind that he would arrive with a couple of chaps and then 20 odd stwers would pop out from behind a bush and say boo.
On my doorstep too, I might be away, if I'm not I will bring cake ๐
Aye it's a fair old way for a day trip.
I'd love to join you but I've got to drive to France that day.. ๐
My thought go to Ton though and hope he gets it all sorted.
Hope the weather 's fine for you all too.
have a nice ride.
Looking like I will be able to get there mate ๐
Pete, nice one mate............ ๐
Drac, if you decide to come, i am in leeds, so you can come with me from there. halfs your driving time.
Seeing as it's my local stomping ground I will hopefully be there.
If it's sillybike time I might bring the tandem ๐
Never done Delamere, I assume 1 gear will suffice?
count me in as well !
Big Pete you'll be fine with 1 gear (its Mark here CCM)
Myself and the good lady shall be coming along. There's a decent campsite at Delmere too, so We'll be combining Sundays pootle with a Saturday night barby and fizzy wine session. Should anyone fancy it? How frightfully civilised ๐
Oh.... and can all of us who are ridiculously over-biked go and play on the 4x track? Canwe? Canwe? Canwe? DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD! ๐
Ooooh . . . STW "very sedate" might equate with my "race pace" ๐ so count me in!
Hi Mark (& Nige) 8)
Binners, got any info on the campsite, might be tempted (as long as I can bring beer
) seeing as the Mrs will be in Madeira ๐
There tha goes Pete
Thats the tent up, pass the beer
Not stayed there myself but heard good things. looks great. Beer and burgers on Saturday night then? ๐
WHOHOOOOOOOOOOO!! Everyone can laugh at my entirely inappropriate non cycling cycling gear that's if I manage to after eating Binners cooking and enduring his tent snoring and trumping to make the ride.
I'm rubbish by the way so will be at the rear
more so I can watch everyone's bums to be honest
