Room for another Yorkshireman? I can drop the wife off at MIL's near Stockport on Saturday, and collect her late Sun,and get extra brownie points.
Ian
Aye up, I'm a Yorkie too. Although I now reside in Shropshire ๐
War of the Roses then? I'll bring duelling swords and plasters x
Bagpuss, at 72 you should be starting to chill more ๐
๐
Hey don't knock daily vitamins from my 5 a day wine (grapes) I'm preserved ๐
Errrrr... where is Delamere??
Linky no worky... where roughly?
It's not far from twelvefifty bikes.
Hey - bagpuss (waves) believe me you'll definitely be one of the youngest on this ride ๐
Bunnyhop.. Want me to bring Ginger cake ? ๐
Bagpuss is a mere whipper-snapper anyway.Bloody cheeky young scamp!!

Hi Mark (& Nige)
Hi Pete, be good to see you ๐ long time and all that.
Just a word for those camping in the forest, bring plenty of insect repellent as the midges are almost as bitey as Scottish ones, though not quite as numerous.
Though as long as Binners keeps puffing on the fags you should be ok ๐
Actually why not take up smoking a pipe for the weekend as that will give a greater smoke volume and a nicer smell ๐ฎ
Cheers Ton I'll let you know as Lakes or Aviemore trip pencilled in for around then.
Would love to come but its the first weekend of a months riding in and Belgium/France. Sorry not to be there but will raise a beer in recognition of this fantastic gathering. Make sure that there are photos posted. If I can learn how to do it i'll post a picture from the phone of the beer and bike in the Ardennes that evening.
I might trek up as never ridden that way before, the ride could do with a little glamour too ๐
Where is it?
Midway between Chester and Northwich, south of Frodsham and junction 12 of the M56.
This is the location of the campsite, which is in the Forest.

Graeme - any cake is good cake in my book, so yes please.
I'll try and bring some too ๐
Just to let you know, if you fancied doing the camping Saturday night beers and barby route, that the campsite at Delamere is fully booked for Saturday night. Boo bloody hiss!! ๐
i'd have loved to have come to this, but as mart said we have a race to "have to manage" that day instead... balls.
Love to come, but...
Is there anything at Delamere that's still worth riding? ๐ I thought most of it was taken down?
Secondly, it might be easiest for me to get there if anyone could help with a lift, in exchange for petrol monies etc.
xherbivore , I wasn't being dismissive about the race , I've always tried to support and been there for most weekends .I just meant that I will priorotise big ton as he's had a shit time and I would like to see him on a ride.will make myself available for the next brownbacks .hope it goes well
mart
ah no mate, i realised that looked a bit snarky after i'd posted it but it was too late to edit- i wasn't having a pop at you, sorry! just that we struggled with marshals at the last race and don't want the same this time, but if i wasn't an organiser i'd be coming on the ride with tony myself too!
no problems , I did the same with my post ,things can read differrent than if you said them so I was just anxious that you didn't take it the wrong way

Still tons and tons of singletrack, lots of diddy downhills with jumps etc
Guys, nice to see such a response, but do remember that this is a social. Not a proper ride. Unless anyone can give Ton a backie.
See you all there!
Would love to come along for this but the journey is just a step too far for a day trip. ๐
Have fun 8)
If I come I'll see if I can borrow a defib.
looks good mate.............and cider is always refreshing mid ride. ๐
Not quite worked out yet why it affects the steering and handling characteristics of my bike though! ๐ณ
buggerit... Can't do that weekend. If only it was two weeks later. I'm up in Ulpha then for a break.
Make sure Ton gets a hug people.
I'm in...maybe, not too far from me but only getting back from Morzine the day before. The trouble n strife may be unwilling.
Right.
I'm back..
So, numbers wise any idea?
It's not cheeky,(much) and we wont see many out on the (best) trails, t a rough heads up, and duration of ride may not be a bad idea..
Duration is up to Ton really. Number... jeez... between 10 and 40 I'd say.
Good holiday mate ?

Want to borrow a tandem? Trailer?
Can I come?
Aye Dave, crackin' fella.
Looks like a big group.. Will be fun. Just thinking of route choices that take in the best bits.. ๐
Morgs, course you can...
Its a free for all... ๐
Count me as a definite, not met anyone but that is the beauty of the mtb scene, just tag along and away you go!
Cool! I might be able to get someone else over aswell!
What time are we thinking of meeting? 3 pages of posts is a lot to go through when your at work and should be working, not trawling through MTB forums ๐ณ
10 hrs is good Nick........80 or so miles............... ๐
Well, you can park at mine and ride an extra 10kms in to the forest if you want?? ๐
Any news on this ride with it being just over a week away!
Er, yeah.. Here
