Sounds good, unfortunately i am away that weekend or I would have entered.
For anyone else thinking about this that havent been to Blairadam before, it has some excellent natural singletrack and the work done by the trailbuilders is excellent.
Sounds good - I need to venture up to Blairadam soon, recently moved to Dunfermline.
provisionally penciled in. see you there 😀
bring it on.
>bring it on.
Don't forget the beer and donuts for the SS class. \oo/
EoL should be open from about 10am and will close at about 11am.
I was reminded earlier that it's this weekend, I haven't been out on the bike in about a month and need to put it back together before I can! 😮
Looks like the bike:blairadam site is down, I can't get it to open 😕
will be roadtesting the singlespeeder donuts this week. remember, beer and donuts are for start line only. any intact beer or donuts at the end will be reclaimed.
think the server that www.blairadam.com is down (along with a few others).
can pre-enter here - https://www.entryweb.co.uk/event.asp?id=219
Website has been down today, hope you guys get it fixed.
Slight concern about the downhill start, how about making it up the track to the carpark, and turn left and left again to go down the singletrack for the start loop?
The SCX start in 2007 was chaos, with a fair few riders coming a cropper at the bottom of the descent. Would be a bit nasty to have someone's season ruined if they were involved in a pileup on the start of the first race!
Yes, site and e-mail appear to be down. Suffice to say, it's unhelpful but hopefully sorted soon There's a few other sites hosted by the same party that are down as Marty says.
The entry page is up though as above and not down (being completely seperate)....

You read our minds.
You read our minds.
I find that happens a lot.
Mud tyres?
Mud tyres?
If you want, but they'll be draggy as hell on quite a bit of the course.

Back up now, thankfully.
If you want, but they'll be draggy as hell on quite a bit of the course......Wasn't planning on it 🙂
Hope to see you there. Flying the flag for LBS Squarewheels........
I was trailbuilding there on Saturday and rode there on Sunday and Monday. I was as close to perfect for riding as you can get. It hasnt rained there since, so if you fancy a great techy XC course within 30 mins of Edinburgh, give this a go.
Did a few laps this afternoon. What can I say, the course is so good. Not worth running mud tyres, could probably get away with old-school semi-slicks if you don't mind sliding on roots. The flowy rooty singletrack is great, should make for some fun racing.
Bring on Sunday.
The descent from the ridge down to blaze burnside path should be a prime spectating point.

Wouldn't it be great to be the marshall stationed right at the bottom of that section, complete with comfy folding chair, DSLR and perhaps even a beer..
Oh wait.............. 🙂
Dougal, glad you're liking the course. Are you entering on the day? If so, EoL opens at about 10 and should close at 11.
Grant, maybe smelling salts and TCP may be more useful.
Grant - Will enter online tomorrow, just to save you chaps the paperwork.
Up the way
Well, if you want to, Peter.
Thanks Dougal
Is there going to be much of a ss turn out?
I know some of the entrants and a handfull are racing SS. Otherwise, we can't tell until they make themselves known at registration.
Have you pre-entered?
On another note, we're planning to close the online entries this evening at about 7pm as we need to do some paperwork etc.
Still at the thinking about it stage..
Will have decided by 7 though
You can always EoL tomorrow if you've still not decided by 7. EoL is open from 10 - 11 tomorrow morning.
Remember, beer and donuts for SSers.. 🙂
Have entered. Looking forward to it - weather forecast looks decent.
Update...
Just back from marking most of the course and it looks good.
Got to finish some of the marking tomorrow morning, put warning signs up on the access roads and block off where applicable.
I'm busy tonight so online entries will remain open.
Prize pot is looking very good too. 😀
Entries now closed.
the beer is flandrian
the donuts are chocolate
first come, first served.
ONLINE entries now closed.
Missed out one rather significant word! 🙄
EoL is open from 10am - 11am sunday morning.
Stoat - did you enter?
The field was 20% singlespeed in the end.

Afraid I didn't 🙁
After a bit more riding than planned and an impromptu gig on sat I felt a bit battered come sunday morning! Next time no such excuses...

They're tagged by race number so you should be able to find yourself.
