Oh, hadn't heard about the lad having an arrest.  Fingers crossed there

And WTF happened to Kung - looked like his pedal came off except it was still attached afterwards.  Surely he can't have such a weird action that he unclipped on the downstroke ?

Good finish in Amstel.

Now enjoying some classic wipeouts in Tro Bro Leon - definitely on my list of routes to ride!

OK result given that it wasn't Valverde, but any one from Astana still deserves a big asterix against their name. I don't even know I can be bothered watching Fleche Wallonne this week, except praying it's not Valv Piti.

Did anyone catch Tro Bro Leon coverage after Amstel? That looks as hard, if not harder than Paris Roubaix. I'd heard about it but never realised how difficult that parcours was. Like Strada Bianca, maybe we will these mixed surface races gain more prominence and world cup points.

I think some fellow forumites are doing it this year (have done it?)

Yeah, another favourite of mine.

Shall be fixed to the sofa watching it.

Don't mind if Valvpiti wins, as long as there is a new face up there in 2nd/3rd. I would love the see a break from50ks out and stay, but sadly those days are long gone.

Its quite clear that this years Classics (and I guess many other editions) have been characterised by a fairly large group of favourites marking each other out. Amstel being a good example. Does the collective think that in the Flèche, as in other minor classics, this is less of a feature and actually results in more exiting racing?

I still can't see beyond Valverde winning especially as the team seem to be targeting the race now for a record number of wins.

Also, as a slight hijack, did anyone ride the Two Bro Leon sportive and would they mind if I PM'd them for info?

Thanks

No Flèche Wallonne Eurosport coverage today? Or am I going blind?

Edit: now found highlights scheduled for later, but nothing live?

ffs it’s a Eurosport Plater problem! It came on straight after the Alps stage, but now there’s no way back to it 😕 (I foolishly moved to another room)

Edit: Now that the Croatia programme has started I can see Flèche - very slick service!

MikelLanda super demestique for Valverde, does that mean he's been acquired to support  Quintana in the Grand Tours too ?

Slowly turning into a quickstep fanboi - can’t seem to help myself at the moment! Been an Alaphilippe fan ever since Tony Martin took him on a 200km 2-up TT the day after he had beasted himself through the mountains, so happy to see him get it.

(we are doing spoilers yeah??)

Good result, nice to see Valvpiti tamed - any chance he'll retire soon?

Caught the last 11k.. odd they let Nibbs go up the road, then to see him falter..

The Huy was a great sight, sad to see the break didn’t stay until the end.. but my predictions this year have been way off 🤣🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I didn’t get to see it live and now there doesn’t seem to be any coverage in Eurosport’s “on demand”. Anyone know where I can find more than the 3 mins on YouTube?

Oh and what’s this Valvpiti?

Piti was the name of his pet dog found on blood bags in Italy, when he used to dope, which he doesn't do anymore as he's really fast and really old and doesn't need to to beat all them youngsters
