Out to the masses, what is the best tent in the 3 to 4 man category? I plan to get out bike packing and cycle touring with my kids and mrs this summer but stuck on a Vango or MSR. Is the MSR brand worth the extra money?
Also, touring with kids? How successful was it?

No one else in the family wanted to when young. James and I set off when he was nine, he carried two light panniers and I carried four heavy ones. We had three great trips in France over the next four years. Not managed it since, that was all over ten years ago.
We used the lightest two man vango of the time.

We have toured with our daughters aged from 5 and 7 up using tandems and panniers. We have a marmot limestone 4p, which is a good balance of weight and cost. For more bikepacking based trips now the kids are older, we also have a HMG Ultamid 4, which is brilliant, but much more costly than the Marmot tent and not as kid proof due to its lightweight construction.

Cycling with the kids when they were young was great-just factor in lots of stops at parks etc for some playing!
