Anybody got a wee route up and down that hill? It would be a nice way to finish off the mentieth hills route.
Think I saw it on the "home" video, but not too sure....
I think the start is opposite the david marshall lodge, but it looks fairly unrideable. Is there maybe a sneaky better path further up the dukes pass a bit that is rideable up?
Cheers
Dave
Don't know the answer to your query I'm afraid. But as a slight hijack....
Do you know anything about the purpose built mini-trails up behind the David Marshall Lodge? I only rode one but it looked like there were more. The one I did ride was really nice.
Arnt they just walking trails for families ect?
only know that there are 2 of them near the david marshall, specifically for MTB.
I think one was technical and another downhill? Quite short but a nice difference from the normal fireroad. If you found one, I think the other is close by. There are a few wee other bits of ST, but i've never really found much more than a couple of minutes worth.
There is nice route over menteith hills quite close to the DML, I have a memory map of it somewhere if you want it?

Nah there's a few short trails with little signs next to the start and finish saying they are mountain bike trails.
Just wondered how many there are or if there are plans to make more etc
edit:
I rode one which was techy ish and quite nice though pretty short
thanks dh if you have a route round there that would be great - my brother lives near there
the one marked brave might be of use to you grum

thanks - think I've done that one, is it out of the Kenny Wilson book? It's very nice and scenic but it's all forest road isn't it?
dont know if it is in the book or not.
There is fair wee chunk of ST, heading north out of bravel is fireroad then turns to ST over to loch venechar. Good bit of down from the picnic bench to the loch but you need to keep your eyes peeled to notice it.
Along the lochside it is singleish.... ๐
Once you climb up to head back to DML area it is all fireroad, thats why I was hoping to include craigmore.
Cheers
