I'm toying with the idea of some lighter weight bike touring kit, i don't want a tent, i like the idea of a bivvy but not the bugs.
I've seen this kind of set up, usually from the USA, i like the idea of a bug net with a bathtub floor set up under a tarp, i really like this ones entry too.

Any ideas where i can buy something similar from within the UK without resorting to selling a kidney ❓
One possibility might be trekker tent http://www.trekkertent.com/home/home/3-stealth.html
I have a borah bivvy, not this particular model though, mine is a regular bivvy with a fly top, https://borahgear.com/bugbivy.html
Failing that your best bet for this kind of info though is on bearbones forum .
Looks almost exactly the same as an inner tent.
You could indeed supplement it with something to go over the top to keep the water out... Perhaps freestanding, or indeed supported by the ... Inner tent.
But once you've optimised that setup, what you would have is essentially a tent.
Sorry, what was the question?
Hammocks usually come with bug nets, and can be used on the ground. Some will need a separate groundsheet. A bathtub floor can work both ways!

@thegeneralist - yea, kinda, but depending how the tarps pitched you could be "tent" like or stare at the stars like. If it was a midge / bug free night i could just sleep on top of the bug net under the tarp. More options.
Some nice stuff on the heinnie haynes wab site.
Yeah, speak to Marc at Trekkertent and tell him what you're after. He has a number of net inners that can be used stand-alone.

He could also set you up with a matching outer or a suitable tarp.
Rab bug net - https://www.ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/equipment-c3/insect-protection-c16/bug-nets-c17/rab-element-2-bug-tent-p1753
That's a one person model, not sure if they do a two person model.
Does depend what you want it for. Personally I'd go for a lightweight bivy bag like the Borah Bivy plus a lightweight tarp. Ultimately much more flexible.
