Obviously the Tarmac won.

Had a bit of an off on the way home yesterday and stripped a bit of bark off my leg.

Any hints to speed up the drying out process?

Was stuck to my pj's this morning and had to leave my shorts on at work.

Anyone?

Did this second day of a transalp.
Not fun peeling myself out of my sleeping bag each morning.
Needs to be covered using one of those non stick dressing if it is contact with clothes etc - buy figure you know that.
Lots of antiseptic cream to help it heal.
There used to be some artifical spray on skin stiff you could get which may be an option..

Artificial skin spray sounds like an alright thing to try, bit reluctant to have anything sticky on my hairy pins, and it's a reasonably sized scrape.

Thanks for the link Jamie, classing it as a burn makes sense, and I did give it a good TCP scrub when I got in.

Cling film if you can't get any fancy dressings, and don't scrub off the goop each time you change it.

Get into the shower right now and go at it with a scrubbing brush. Then cover with dressing, change every 12 hours, don't let it dry out. It will be Pretty much healed in four days

That savlon artificial skin stuff does work well, but it's way, waaaay more painful than getting the injury in the first place...

I went over the bonnet of a volvo yesterday. I hurt a bit but bike appears to be unsscathed apart from scratches on grip ends, pedal, and rear skewer.

I may have posted last night but have no recollection of last night at all. Was wobbly all day.

update.

Got some spray on skin. felt like someone was blowtorching my leg!

It did keep it dry though, however it kept some muck in and it became infected.

Went to docs, measured it a 17 cm long and 8 cm wide, prescribed 500mg of 'something'cillin for a week, and told to keep it clean and dry.

It scabbed over fully after about 2 weeks, and the final remnants have just fallen off leaving a rather tender pink and wrinkly patch.

Cheers

I was recommended Bio Oil (to minimise scarring) so now that most of my considerable scabs have dropped off, have been applying it twice a day including on my face. Skin is very pink underneath scabs. 😯

Doesn't sting at all, you'll be pleased to hear!

Heal well. 🙂
