Hi there, I'm on the lookout for some advice if possible.
Several years ago I owned a rocky mountain blizzard 2008 but then sold it, I regret it big time and have just bought another one (frame only) from Ebay.
I searched #rockymountainblizzard on Instagram and I swear someones got a tapered fork on his blizzard, is this possible? To fit a tapered fork on an 1 1/8 headtube? I've read that there's a special cup of some description but it's only suitable on specific frames. if anyone could shine some light on this for me that'd be great, cheers

Measure your headtube, if it's traditional 1 1/8 i.e. ID 34mm then no. If it's a 44mm ID headtube, with an integrated headset or similar then yes you can run an external lower cup to do it on most forks. Hope type H lower cup or similar.

Edit: bit of google suggests it's a 49mm headtube which means you need a hope type f or similar, not a common size so you won't get a lot of choice on the headset. Going from integrated to external means the front will be a touch higher on the same fork.

As Nick says.

I've Googled some pics - looks like a plain 1 1/8 headtube with traditional external cups to me. Which would be a no for tapered forks
