Have some Rev Teams on the Cannondale, 20mm thru axle tapered steerer but I really don't get on with then the legs walk in the corners and twang backwards and forwards on obstacles.

I wondered how some Lyrics would compare in terms of stiffness? I could live with the weight increase if they only move up-and-down and not side-to-side or backwards & forwards.

Cheers

They're noticably stiffer... But then the 20mm Revelation's the stiffest of the main 32mm-ish forks so if you find them so very wobbly, will you be happy with anything? Are you sure they're not worn or damaged, slack bushings could cause that...

The Revs seem OK they are buttery smooth & composed 75% of the time but they are not like the Pikes or the Domains on my other bikes

The flex is noticeable when hopping off one onto another.

They do exactly what you describe. I've got sektors, revs and lyrics.

The damping is far better too, I never quite get my rev's right, the lyrics I dialled in the recomended settings and never changed them, I tried fiddling about and they're much mroe subtle changes than the on/off damping in the Revs where I always felt like i was looking for the point between on and off and a click either way was too hard or too soft. The Lyrics seem more linear with the adjustment so a click either way chaged the damping, but anything within a few clicks was useable but different.

Rocketman, I changed my Rev's for that exact reason. I felt they were twangy at 150mm.

I've now got a set of Lyrik 2 steps. They feel like I can plough through anything without that unwanted flex. They do weigh slightly more and its noticable the first few rides but you soon get used to it.

If you want to give em a try, I'm a Cannock local but I do ride a small Blur LT so the bike may not fit.

They are strong and stiff so really don't flex much at all, and in comparison to the Revs I'd say they'll feel much more beefy.

The coil spring travel is really smooth and the whole RS Mission Control damping is easy to setup and very nice too.

I have for sale a set of little used and mint condition coil U-Turns in black with a 1.125" straight steerer cut to 215mm if you're interested ...I only ride 29" wheels now. Mail me (see my profile) and I can send you some pics. I'm in Manchester.

Oh yeah and as Naranjada says, the Mission Control damping is amazing. Simple to set up and works far better than anything else I have sampled on a MTB.

I stepped down from totems to lyriks and didnt notice a significant difference in stiffness.

2-step was shite though and rapidly got swapped out for u-turn.

I must say i dont exactly like the 2 step but as it doesnt get used then its not really an issue.

When the inevitable happens and they stick down at 120mm i'll get the 2 step swapped out.
