the colour of the ever changing landscape.
the mud caked grin on other riders faces when plastered in englands finest.
nailing a corner.
the glorious sound of tyres squelching through the self same mud.
hot tea, cool cake and conversation.
meeting interesting new people.
planning the next fantastic outing.
washing off the ride from a worn and tired hardtail, yet smiling at how she fits and feels just right.
mud tan lines whirpooling their way down a rusty plughole in the steaming hot deluge of a post ride shower.
a wife with fresh homemade bananan loaf and enough tea to drown a fish.

ride on, ride hard, ride safe.

x

I had one of those today, too - Verderers in the FOD is more fun than a blue has any right to be!

Fantastic post!

People who don't ride don't get this. I have been out in the wilds for several hard hours and came back utterly ****ed, and can only smile at what I have just done.
Make memories and enjoy the trail.

Absolutely...

Fantastic romp through mud this morning, even a tidy off when I lost my rear wheel in a bomb hole and left skin behind couldn't ruin a great ride.

So happy I went to the LBS and ordered a new bike... Can't wait ๐Ÿ˜€

Note; i'm not usually that impulsive, have been searching for several weeks and demo ride today nailed it.

have to say not as eager to get out in winter as used to be but did 25 mile night last night, claggy north downs stuff everywhere but after cleaning and lubing bike today it all seemed worth it

The colour of all the different dog eggs.
The poo caked grimace on other riders faces when plastered in englands finest.
Noncing the corner.
The relentless sound of tyres squelching after a tubeless burp fail.
Meeting moaning old rambling gits.
Planning the next fantastic outing that you know will be equally as shite and will definitely make excuses for not attending.
A grumpy bitch with a list of jobs to do that haven't been done because someone's been out all weekend on his bloody bike, with fresh home made plate of sweet f all.
Whinge on, whinge hard, whinge always.

Oh yes! Since I got my 5 I just want to keep riding it, after 25-30 Dales miles my head wants to do another lap but my crocked old body won't let me!
