Swansea cyclist catapulted from bike by string http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-44396411

Injuries more serious than the headline suggests!

I’m surprised that anyone could have found a quiet enough few minutes to tie a cable across the track at that time of day. It’s busy! Thanks for the heads-up.

I saw this on facebook. It is really surprising no-one saw anything.

I’m also surprised that the victim felt that he had to mention that cyclists travel too fast on the path. It reads like a BBC cyclist-hating piece - mentions of irresponsible cyclists, need for helmet otherwise death may happen, etc.

The only conflict I’ve had down there is with owners of loose dogs (which is increasing.)

Agreed - I've had two bite me, only one drew blood though. The owneres response was 'Its because you're on a bike, he always bites cyclsits, he wouldnt bite if you weren't on a bike.'

That sort of statement just makes me seethe. So you walk your dog on a path which is shared and then complain when your dog doesn't like the thing you're sharing the path with? Bloody mouth breathers!

Oh and is this the point when a hand rubbing dog owner suggests that you get off your bike the moment you see a dog and try and serenade it first before being allowed to pass it without being physically attacked? "Because thats what you should do if you don't want to be bitten"
