[Closed] Thinking of new wheels around £300 mark should I go wide

Currently have shimano deore hubs with mavic en,321 rims. Hubs are pitted and rims battered so rather than replace will get new wheels

Long time since I bought new wheels but have been looking at the superstar ones and they do either 24 or 30 Id

I currently have maxxis high roller 2.30 and am not a serial tyre replacer.

Any thoughts on the merits of either of these wheels. I see loads of reviews on getting wider rims but is 30mm too wide and will splay the sidewalls too much,???

I am around the 95kg mark and ride general trail and trail centres if that helps

Real world experiences would be helpful or alternative wheels for that price

Cheers

Kwack

I have a wide set, Hope 35W and notice no difference at all between my standard WTB i25's... well, i do notice they're not needing Truing.... that's it though. At my level, they're just wheels... .but straight 🙂

Ive just bought a set of hope pro 4's on Stan's flow mk3 rims (29mm internal width)

According to Stan's they suit tyres from 2.35 to 2.8in wide (im running 2.5in tyres)

Cost £375 built and shipped from CRC

Have a look at Hunt wheels.  They have been reviewed on STW. But that Hope/Stan's set ^^^ seems like a good deal!
