anyone got experience on the ogre? i spent a load of money on a really nice 29er, and i love it, but i also want a tourer, but i i cant afford (and don't want) another bike. so i'm looking for an off road tourer. something i can run as a MTB, but put different tyres etc on and head of on a trip
the ogre seems the best bet....
what do you think?
show me pics too please
i was in the same position as you, The ogre rides really nice, But i ended up going for the el mariachi.
I'll be using all my mtbing/bikepacking/touring.
the reason i was thinking ogre was i could fit a rear rack, and i can use v brakes or disc
i am looking for something similar, salsa fargo is another option.
thing is with salsa is they are expencive, and i dont like how they look (!)
but saying that, i did look a lot at the fargo
another option is the on one 29r, takes guards and rack, and is nice fitted with a rigid fork.
salsa take rear racks but you need a salsa rack to fit the dropouts.
the headtubes are ugly though!

Here's my mate Andy's - he set off from Thailand early Jan, headed for Beijing.

Sold one this week to a happy customer who wanted the moon on a stick, or a bike to take to the moon. Anyway, in the end The Ogre fit the bill.
Bombproof doesn't do it justice and the rack could move a house. Tank green too.
