Have a word with Keep Pedalling in the Northern Quarter, they stock Surly and Rich and Shona are both on the small side so may well have bike you can have a try on.

you could ask Rich at Keep Pedalling in That Manchester -they're a Surly dealer and can get demo bikes, and I think he has one himself
