Yes, a mate is running this setup currently. Have a look on the Travers bikes blog. Seems you lose a couple of mm compared to rabbit holes but it works.

Knard seems to work great with a regular rim, i always figured i'd need to go wide, and uber purists would probably tell me i do, but i've not noticed any downsides with the tyre at 15psi.

In the pics i'm running it on a standard xc rim with no probs. Nigel parker on here is running on a flow ex. I've just bought a Dually to try out, but I've been very happy with the way it performs on a 'normal' wheel.

Overall width may not chnge too much, but the tyre profile looks quite different?
