Need some new pads for weekend - not heard any tales of woe about them recently - having never tried them, should I?

they have changed the design of the way they join the backing plate - so far none of mine have fallen apart...

Just make sure you bed 'em in properly first, or they'll a) not work properly and b) not last as long!

Like any other pad but less spendy. Otherwise as flyingmonkeycorps. Again,

another convert, although I've stuck with the organic verison, last nearly as long as original avids with pretty good performance at a third of the price..

Using SSC sintered pads in my K24's after a pretty disappointing experience with a set of Formula's own brand sintered. Good so far

No problems here with SSC sintered on Deore brakes. Wearing at the same rate as every other Genuine Shimano pad that i use.

Are those red Oury Lock-ons on one of the bikes? How do you find them (if they are Oury's?). They seem a lot harder than the black set I have. Wondered if it was a one off or they're all like that?

Mmmmm, cream teas.......oooooh, where was I?

Oh yes.....I'm on my 5th pair of SSC organic pads and no problems at all. Even on my Spain holiday last yr (where I may have, erm, dragged my brakes a bit) they were fine.
Gonna stick some new pads in the front too tomorrow, and then it will be matchin SSC F&R.

There's a pattern emerging here but my SSC Sintered are fine too - work well and last well.

Both sintered and organic in use here, the organics seem to have died in a short time but I'll be honest and say I didn't try hard to bed them in, but then I didn't with the sintered either as my usual riding tends to bed them before they get used in anger. The organics are on the other halfs bike who is less brutal with them.

So far so good on the ones I've been using and never bedded them in just like any other pad.

A bike shop told my friend to make sure he beds his pads in when he bought some last year. "How do I do that?" "Ride down a hill touching them occasionally after a few descents they'll be bedded in." "So just like normal descent then?" was my response shopkeeper looked a little red.

Using on Hope M4s for a few months.
Equally as good as hopes.

Well this is certainly a turnaround from things I've read in the past - hopefully they'll arrive today - went out for an unscheduled quick hour blast last night.......using front brake only 😯

tried the sintered on my xt's (bought about 4months ago). bedded them in as per the instructions and low and behold, one of the pads fell to pieces the morning of an adventure race in the lakes which meant having to replace the set even though they were only a few rides old (luckily i noticed it but could have easily gone to ride without any brake material on one pad!)

the set on the rear have been fine and i've got one more set left so i'll give it a go to get my moneys worth but not overly impressed and hope they can improve quality in the future

Which bike aphex?

She loves it Ian, whines if we rest for too long. As long as we give her a break regularly, let her cool off in streams and stuff she's fine. Great trail dog!
