I'm doing a Dark&White Trailquest tonight on local trails, so getting lost is not an option.

Will look out for you fella. Keep your eyes peeled for the fat, bald bloke on a blue Intense.

We're kicking off from Hollingworth at 7.30, and making the most of the light, then final descent to the pub (now poncy wine bar) with lights on. Hope the rain stays off

You could also say hello to the fat speccy bloke on a Fisher hardtail ๐Ÿ˜‰

then final descent to the pub (now poncy wine bar)

We're meeting (and finishing) at The Riverhead - a microbrewery* - keep it in mind for next time you venture this way ๐Ÿ˜‰

maybe see you out on th'ills...

*Largely wasted on me, a lager drinker but, the ales are rather popular and there are certainly worse start / finish points around ... ๐Ÿ™‚

No riding tonight. Just got in from teaching 19 Beavers to make burgers for a health badge. BBQ'd them afterwards. Hot BBQ's & mischievous 6 & 7 yr olds makes for a nervous experience.

Managed a good local ride last night...

Sun? Hehe. Suppose it must be behind that grey stuff all around South Wales.

This is about as hardcore as it gets here

Cheers for that marsdenman - I'll remember that. I'm a lager drinker too so its wasted on me too. But the others had a pint of Bumkins Old Knob-Tickler or some such, at the Wine Press when we finished

We had a great ride last night. Only needed the lights for the last descent. We got a bit carried though, and almost missed last orders. It was a close run thing ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

We had a cracker up Rivington last night!

Parked up at the Black Dog in Belmont, rode round to rivvy, down the ice cream run, past the barn all the way to the resevoir, back up past lower barn and up to the top where we messed about on sets of steps and too some cheeky all the way back down, then another trip all the way back to the transmitter and a lovely flowing decent all the was down San Marino to finish. Where a pint of Holt IPA and salt and vinegar McCoys rounded it off nicely.

Trails were in perfect condition and plenty of bikers out enjoying it, good times! ๐Ÿ˜€

Really glad you all had dry rides, we on the other hand got soaked through, trails are really taking a pounding aswell. ๐Ÿ™

Still, good excuse to light the fire in the pub and stay for another pint of Otter Ale as it was too wet still to ride home...

Went riding with a mate on the edge of the Dales nr Richmond in beautiful hot and sunny weather. Some great trails but a few were quagmires thanks to lots of rain and cattle churning the ground up. My back aches today from all the carrying and dragging of the bike through mud.

Then when almost back we got stampeded by 20+ bullocks for the entire length of a 300m field. After the first dozen started running more ran down the hill above us to join them and almost cut us off and we only just got to the opposite gate in time. They might have been having fun but it didn't feel like it to us. I was just pleased I'm fitter than my friend so I pulled a good 30m on him which gave me a buffer to open the gate for us. As we got through the gate they charged right up to it.
