Hi

I need to remove the frame bearings from my 2016 Carbon Lapierre Spicy. There are two bearings separated by a weird spacer with a couple of notches out of it on each side. The spacer mostly stops me getting to the back of bearings to smack them with anything from the opposite side.

Any suggestions about how you are supposed to remove these bearings?

I've already slightly deformed the spacer trying to smack the bearing out bu smacking that.

You can use a blind puller, you get ones which expand in the bearing bore, others with a thin lip which expand behind the bearing.

Do the notches in the spacer not let you get a punch onto the bearing?

potentially i could get something quite thin to the bearing, not anything as thick as a punch..i wouldtny then have a good angle

Are you suggesting something like this  http://r.ebay.com/EPbE7k?

Yep that's a blind bearing puller. The set I have is this one...

But as long as it has the right sized collet for the bearing ID it'll be fine.

Yeah always try and tease them out before hitting stuff....

Bearing puller is a great investment

Hmmm.... That kit looks tempting.

I changed all the bearings in my jeffsy without one but that would have made some of them a bit easier for sure.

Damn it, getting tool envy again!
