Hi
As Deejay is on his hols he asked me to post a roll call thread.
I know the original thread has been bumped today but I thought I would try to get everybody in one place.
Please only post if you are definitely coming so we can get an idea of numbers.
We are 4 (at least)from Darlo
Cheers
Steve

I will be there!

I will be travelling from Bradford and could fit another person in the car. Although you will have to be prepared to take off wheels etc to fit two bikes in the car.

I want to come too - but I'm working. And my wife is doing the York 10k run so I have the little one and even if I wasn't working I couldn't make it.

I'm off to sulk now.

I'll be there, if I can get my front wheel straight.

I'll attempt some baking/caking too (can't promise it'll be any good though)

Anybody unsure of where we are meeting just click on lowey's link above - 9.30 meet for a 10 start - don't forget, plenty of food and drink required as there is not much scope for topping up.

Yes I can bring the Juliana if that is requested. We need 34 candles for the cake (it's going to be a chocolate and orange cake). Hope everyone can sing in tune!

whats the route like Deejay?

Not much in the way of rocky stuff - peaty single track with moorland grouse trails linking it up - apparently its rained a fair bit over here the last week but most of it should be ok - mind you the vegetation was fairly lush a month ago so it might be of jungle proportions now!

Pictures look fantastic! Weather looks OK for Sunday too.

Would love to come but my post-op knee is only up to 2 hr moderate trail centre riding at the mo.

Being a user of old skool maps, is there anyway of getting the tracklog onto a map...
..for free?

Good luck
Paul

With that piccy, the bike choice may be a secondary thing, what strimmer/Flymo to take is the top priority.

What has she purchased?

An anthem team frame I'm told, at a bargain price - I might not be able to keep up with her anymore!

Can anyone tell me what signpost I should look for when leaving Thirsk please?

Is it signed Sutton Bank from there?

Also, does anyone coming from Clitheroe area want to car share?

Fizzer, just follow signs for the A170, and it is signed Sutton Bank.

I'd normally offer you a lift ( I'm in Accrington) but I have to go back via me Mums in Easingwold...

Sorry.

ok, strange ask, does anyone that's coming along have any spare nipples ๐Ÿ˜† preferably of the spoke/wheel type, 15 gauge... I appear to have found the source of my wheel wobble!!

If not then I'll be calling on the spare wheel offers!

Cheers
Keith

Does anyone who's coming carry either matches or a lighter with them?

Next random question: is it hardtail country or full suss territory?

And yes I think I have some matches in the camping box, will confirm after trip to attic.

I'm bringing my full suss but only because there are small block 8s on the Voodoo and I can't be arsed to change them, so either fs or ht will be fine.

If you have candle-lighting equipment that will be great, I don't need to stop at a shop then ๐Ÿ™‚

I am hoping not, however it has rained quite a bit this last week and most of last night and this morning - generally the trails are OK but there are sure to be patches of gloop but I don't think they will be long sections.

last week spent riding full suss in the French/Swiss sunshine:D so maybe it's time for the H/T in the Yorkshire rain:cry:

Junkyard: Cheers, It is a 180mm rotor! woohoo, thanks, I've got a spoke key too, so I think we might have success one way or another. Excellent.

On the cake front, Rocky Road, now chilling in the fridge ๐Ÿ˜›

We have to have one of these STW rides every month, just to work off the cake from the one before!!!

With the amount that everyone is baking, you are going to put Mr Kipling out of business.

Really fancy coming but a seized caliper sort of putting a dampner on things. Might turn up on the cross bike. Any idea how long you expect to be out for?

seized caliper front or rear may as well bring a brake as well.
Avid Juicy any good?
E-mail me if you want me to bring one.
6 + hours due to the social nature of the ride , odd mechanical and obligatory serious injury.

Wet, muddy, some big climbs and a fair mileage. Absolutely loved it to bits a great day out. My first ride on the North Yorks Moors most certainly won't be my last. That kind of terrain is why I ride a mountain bike.

Big thanks to Dave for leading and to everyone for making me so welcome as the newbie of the group.

Just cleaned the bike and I reckon half the NY Moors is lying in my drive, the rest is in the shower basin!

Graham

PS how did you get into the car?
