Almost definitely not gonna make it... I still have a sore wrist, my shock bushings haven't turned up, and I need to build the bike still...

I still have a sore wrist

🙄

I'm not coming, but still contributing to the thread. I don;t think it will be very good on saturday, Jacobs ladder is rubbish, and there are no good down hills...

Sounds like a popular ride... bit of house keeping from me:

I'll...
a) be there
b) be on a hardtail (blue on-one)
c) (fingers crossed) have two working brakes
d) be somewhere around midfield with a bit of luck
e) be answering to to either hp_source or Keith whatever.
f) be looking forward to these now legendary burgers, and meeting you good folks

Looking forward to it, whatever the weather!

....and I lied about the conditions on the Roych - it's the pits, just as much snow as three weeks ago which means pushing for miles through deep snow. Just not worth doing. He he. Does that Help?????? 😀

Seriously, this is at Bolehill Clough on the Roych yesterday. Ignore the comments at the top!

Wrighty - not very severe, 14 miles.

Mr p, original meeting point, unless it's chocka, then people are gonna park in edale car park and meet at the first road turning about 10.20am

Andy - rideable then 🙂

outing before 🙂

Wrighty - that's the joy of these rides. We welcome one and all. And the number of people coming back time and time again is testament to us being a welcoming bunch! (i think)

The pace is set to 'pootle', we chat, admire the views, and don't rush. If you're towards the back you'll have a group of people to chat to, if you're up the front likewise, I tend to be middling pace.

We share haribo, jelly babies, cake, repairs, and banter.

Hope you can make it along

😀

Sounds a good day out pook, i've only been back riding since november after a 15 year lay off and have been honing my skills or what's left of them on solo rides. Went outlast weekend for the first time with a mate and it was a right laugh. Good to just have the crack after the ride! Hope all goes well and I'll definately be on the next one. Cheers for the invite.

Rear shock? Lyons- how are you getting on with your Hiace? Any minor issues etc and what mpg are you getting?

I had a thought earlier - with so many of us going, what happens if they run out of burgers? 😯

calling pook!!

in fact anybody that knows the route

not knowing the route properly will i be able to ride this with my back still being a bit iffy?
went out last night for a spin and back was ok, but a bit achey on some longer climbs. bear in mind i was on the single speed so no sit and crawl with granny gears

really want to come as i've missed the last ones because of one reason or another. now i can make it, i'm blody invalided

Ha, well, i bought the frame before christmas, adn took the shock off to measure the bushing size, check the bearings etc. I put it somewhere, Im just not sure where... I think its either in the garage at my parents, or in a locked room in my house (my landlord never used to lock it, but for some reason he has now). Either way, i'll have it by tomorow, so i'll make sure everything else is working fine, pick up my bushings, get them fitted and I MAY make it...

Not done one of these before as I'm normally busy on a Saturday. Room for three more? I've a couple of mates interested as well. Baber Booth or Edale at ten?

I havent commuted to work on my bike for over two weeks and last weekend I spent circa 2.5hours on the bike.

with the exception of the last Peaks Pootle, I don't think I've ridden 2.5 hours in total this year. I keep putting off my night rides knowing I have a "real" ride coming up. I can't say December and November last year were much better.

THIS is the year...just not quite yet 😕

Is that the sofa and a beer calling??

Adey, I think you'll be fine. There's a couple of climbs. One from edale up to hollins cross then mam tor, and the other up to the top of jacobs ladder from the ashes. Many will be pushing I should think. Your call though old chap!

Onza, barber booth at 10, all welcome!

i am still planning on coming and will probably park at Edale.

Does the ride pass this point or will i have to cycle back to Barber Booth?

i assume cycling down the road is easiest?
