pads! nice one pook, need some spares for my new brakes
james - Member"I'd say 3.5-4hrs v.max"
How big is the group though? In a group of 4 (so less of a group faffage factor, but probably stopped a little more and a little more often), admitedly not that fit riders, but okay, have taken 6 hours before
It was a nice day though, maybe we weren't cold enough to want to get round fast enough
we're at 27 so far James.
will why? You better have a good excuse soldier!
I might well be along on Saturday. Probably ride over and see you there.
ok then chaps....we're looking like this so far.....

So do I need to put my number on the front of my bike as well as wearing my namebadge? 😀
I think we'll manage with just your name badge simon!
😀
skiprat will be worn out (poor fella) 😆

Girlfriend informed me yesterday that she has booked "a nice romantic weekend away"
🙄
To say i'm gutted doesn't do it justice!
Ah. Yes, Valentines weekend. good point.
A fair few will use this as a getout clause on the day 😉
Yeah but will, I'm presuming you will still get some riding in 😉
lyons. you'd forget the"things for the ladies pleasure" (edited), bottle of wine etc 😉
so we need name badges? dont think ill bother...ill be the one riding slowly, its a bit of a giveaway.
we don't need name badges. It's just for me really 'cos I'm rubbish with names.
And being called "Pook" for a four hour ride is a bit of a pain!

Yeh, annoying eh!
Hora - You really fdo have me figured out. I did forget a certain something once... Result was me running rounds the local pubs trying to find it in a hurry. Kind killed the mood.
I'm hoping i can still come, but not 100 percent... Gotta watch my spending at the moment...
crikey - for a moment there I thought you and Hora were planning a rendezvous chez le van!!!
"If Lyon's van's rockin', don't come knockin'"
😯
has anyone got any size 46 winter spd boots i could try out on the day?
i believe i have some diadora ones you can try, mail me
arg! my transport has been banjaxed by the kids needing to be somewhere at 10. if anyone is travelling up the m1 and fancies a less than 5 minute detour at junction 25 then im happy to pay petrol and burger money!
I hope I can still come. Day is free, no problem, but I've hurt my thigh muscles installing new glazing units in my Velux windows at the weekend. I have been walking round like an arthiritic John Wayne since. 🙁
And my new stickers haven't arrived yet either. 🙁
I might not be able to make it, i'll think up an excuse later, i just wanted to jump on the quitters bandwagon early
oi, im not quitting, just hitch hiking
I am coming up from Northampton so will be coming past J25 if you are stuck.
mister p, my hero! that would be much appreciated
OK, not a problem. Mail me mark.pearson AT madison.co.uk and we can arrange details.
Just incase my car doesnt pass its MOT this week- anyone going from (south) Manchester who could take one?
Weather's looking good for Saturday folks - cold but sunny
😀
woot! (fingers crossed for new forks arriving in time)
Assuming the plan is still to do the route from Edale including the Royche track (fraid I haven't been keeping up with the thread - that's Sambob's job!), here is condition report on the Royche track. I rode up from New Smithy via Beet Farm this afternoon, along the track to Rushup Edge and then back via Chapel. The track is mostly rideable, unlike three weeks ago when it was mostly unrideable. There's still a lot of snow about, but you can bypass quite a bit of it. So unless there's a big dump of snow, it looks good for Saturday.
Cheers Andy - good scouting there. i'm looking forward to this one!!!!

crikey. It's big.
Sweep on how many turn up? I'll take 18
Crikey, if all them turn up it'll be like critical mass. 😀
I think the barber booth layby may not be big enough! Edale car park would be better, but you do have to pay. Opinions?
Legs are much, pain seems to have gone. Gonna buy some new bib tights for the weekend.
Edale carparks fine. Do you know the turning off the road linking the two upto the first climb to Mam Tor?
Layby and carpark parkers could liase/meet there.
Where do the famous burgers come from then?
Its ****in snowing here (Manchester) **** off!
21 I say for the sweepstake. Am i your chauffeur again Mr Sutherland?
its snowing gently here (near whaley bridge) but my mum said there appeared to be no snow on kinder, so it could just be local. and im ill! i am determined to come though, if it is anything like the last one, it will be great fun 🙂
Please Colburn, if tha doesn't mind.
You can add another couple to the list - my colleague and his mate
...which takes us to 34 😯
colburn??
34? We are going to need a bigger boat.
