Yes fall guy. Good idea. We'll do that. I'll meet the car park group, hora will meet the barber booth group and we'll fight somewhere in edale.

Tipple? Er,I like my real ales. You really don't have to though. I'm happy as long as I don't get sued!

Nope, Metcheck forecast looks pretty reasonable. Cold but dry and not too windy. That is pretty good for mid February I reckon.

Wrap up warm folks.

I may live to regret this, but my number is

07734 816671 if anyone needs details.

No late night heavy breathing please. I prefer that kind of thing in the mornings

😉

I should be making this, so long as I (or rather the car) don't have some sort of break down
Hopefully Ill remember to bring (and charge) my camera, so If I'm not too cold and miserable then I ought to be able to take and get some pics up on here

Anybody any idea on what the riding conditions are likely to be?
Granted the grassy bits upto HollinsX/mam tor/rushop edge will be sloppy, but snow?
Fell Marvins link to the snow drift is worrying me somewhat

Thought I wouldn't be coming 🙁

I've had a bad cold all week and the lbs has still got my stumpjumper as the fsr bearings haven't arrived despite being promised by specialized that they had been sent on wed! Good news tho!!! Dom at Bridgegate Cycles is so sorry to let me down he's lending me a brand new Enduro to have a play on - happy days 😀

Hope I don't bend it or ride like a big girl either 🙁

What size is it simon? Not that I am in the market for one but it might help if someone is looking for a CX frame.

well, I found the shock, but havent got the bushings yet... 😐

I'm going to have to miss this one, which is a shame, as I really want to ride jacobs ladder... It might be for the best though, first ride out on a new bike, would probably have fallen apart. Plus it gives me time to play with suspension setup (theres tooons of adjustments) bar height etc.

Which means it'll be quicker, which then means I'll just be waiting longer for you all to catch up at the bottom of the hills 😆

Mister P- the Burger is worth it.

Last time there were circa 20 blokes at the pub afterwards. Only two ordered food. As the two platters arrived I noted a few wistful looks. You know, that look that says 'ahh bugga I should have ordered that but if I order it now it will arrive as everyones leaving'.. I was prepared to defend my food to the death. The looks were scary 😆

I only ride where there is food (and newspapers).

Ps. Just to add- tomorrow is probably the last time I'll be able to get out for a while (mrshora is due anytime over the next weeks so I will have to stay close).

Bike is all set to go. I have put "proper" tyres on it this time, the Speed Kings were ok last ride but I have something a bit more knobbly on this time.

[b]Right o chaps, my last post on this before zero hour, just to clarify details...

Meet at Edale Car Park or Barber Booth layby at 10 am. Set off from edale Car park at 10.20am.
Hora's gonna meet people at the layby, I'll be at the car park

We're going up to hollins cross, up mam tor, over rushup edge, down the pennine bridleway, round mount famine, up to Edale Cross, down Jacobs ladder, and then back to Edale.

It's 14 miles.

Metcheck says cloudy - 2 degrees
BBC says cloudy with sun, 4 degrees tops.

After the ride we're going to the Rambler Inn for food. Hora just loves them burgers.

I'll take a count of riders at 10.20am before we set off.

My number is still 07734 816671 despite some disturbing phone calls earlier.... However, Edale is rubbish for signal so best bet is just to aim to be on time!

See you in the morning folks!

The Burger has changed though. It used to be served on a wooden board, it was largera and with Goats cheese inside. Where was the Goats cheese? Must be new management.
